Very fast and pleasant bike

Review freshly posted after 15 days of use and 400kms. The bike responds to the slightest request, the performance is really there while maintaining comfort, going from 23 section to 28 is quite radical for comfort! The impression of less good performance on bumps is quickly forgotten when you look at the figures, this bike is a real rocket regardless of the elevation! And what's more, this right-left power sensor, really ideal for quality training. The only negative point at the moment is the brakes which I cannot properly break in/adjust, lots of vibrations and noises...to be continued...

A great bike with unbeatable value for money

A really great bike. Crazy value for money. The aero of the bike is very worked without having the weight on the scale climbing!!! We feel it right away!!! The equipment is just great, the Zipp wheels, the strong SRAM groupset with the power meter!!!! Only the braking lacks a little bite. On the flat the bike spins and after 30 the inertia of the wheels does the rest. On the plains or in the mountains, the bike does really well. The bike is rigid and responsive enough to have good acceleration. It also remains quite comfortable. In short, a bike really well designed to enjoy both leisure and racing. For me only one downside. The assembly with the Michelin power cup which requires 5 bar mini with Zipp wheels which do not accept more than 5 bar…. In conclusion, don't go looking for well-known brands, you will pay at least €1500 more to have a similar package.

Fantastic bike for a really good price.

The bike rides fantastic, it is quit stiff and reacts very directly but not nervous. The ZIPP wheels are great and the SRAM Force is performing perfectly. At first I thought the 48/35 combination of SRAM would give a lower top speed (mentioned in some comments) but the cassette with 10 as smallest gives the same gear ratio as 53-11 on a shimano ultegra, meaning that a top speed of above 60km/h is still achievable in sprints ;) Only downside is the availability, it took me quit some waiting and effort to require this bike due to lack of stock. Overall this is a great bike for a really good price.

Bad tracking

The RCR is a very good bike, but the follow-up in the event of a problem is not up to the standard of the product. I have a problem with a noisy transmission on my bike and after two visits to the workshop my problem has not been resolved and no solution has been offered to me. After contacting assistance, he advised me either: -To return my bike to a regional expertise center, without certainty of the qualification of the people present on site and therefore of the resolution of my problem. Nor any estimate of deadlines. -To go through a mechanic at an independent bicycle retailer and check with after-sales service to have the bill reimbursed. This raises questions about the notion of guarantee.

very nice bike

Very nice bike with incredible great behavior, very efficient, however very disappointed with the SRAM braking system, significant shaking and noise when braking, a problem noted by the Decathlon cycle service team.

a great success!!!

Bike tested on the Artois 2024 loop the pros: The bike responds perfectly to restarts and is super versatile, the ZiPP wheels respond really well, the price is very good value for money the - the 48/35 crankset is limited for races, arriving at more than 45km/h it grinds hard, see to propose a 50/37, but this remains a personal opinion the matte black color is great, but very messy, prepare your rags ;)

The bike has been at home for three weeks, I've driven about 700 km (half of it on the bike, half on the road) and I'm completely satisfied. In terms of pedal pressure response, one could perhaps find an even stiffer bike, in terms of aero maybe too, but overall the bike moves forward incredibly. It's also not an aero-heavy machine at all in the hills. A classic today by weight. But all together with the price: where do you get such a machine today? In addition, the wattmeter is a nice added bonus.

A performance bike with a small but…

Starting with the advantages: - Extremely stiff and agile bike, great for racing and training. If you're looking for a road bike for long, leisurely trips, this won't be it. -The standard weight of 7.7 kg is easy to lose, by switching to tubeless we go down to about 7.5 kg. (Size M) -The aerodynamics of the bike are felt when approaching a speed of approximately 40 km/h. -The quality of workmanship does not differ from premium bikes costing much more. -Personally, I like the cockpit solution which has internal cable routing but allows for easy replacement of the bridge. -The advantage is the flat carbon handlebar. -The price-quality ratio and the equipment we get is unrivaled. A few comments: -The painting is extreme minimalism, a thin layer of matte varnish with the carbon fiber visible underneath. Personally, it doesn't bother me, but it's not a painting that attracts attention. However, I can understand it due to the weight of the frame. -At first, it was scary that the upper frame tube worked slightly when pressed harder with the hand. This is due to the way the frame is shaded, it does not affect the stiffness of the frame, which is at an excellent level, but I would skip sitting on the top tube. -Factory zipp wheels are made with hookless technology. This is not a clear disadvantage, but the topic has recently been controversial, and I personally replaced the wheels with my favorite model. -Before purchasing, I recommend checking the geometry in detail to select the size, because the information provided by the manufacturer regarding the selection of height to size is very indicative. To sum up: I am very pleased with the purchase. The bike rides great, but it is equipment for people who are aware of their needs and expect a stiff and fast bike that will give a lot of pleasure from fast riding.

awesome

Already a user of the old RCR Van Rysel is very satisfied with this one, there with the New RCR going upmarket. after a few outings I am amazed by the behavior of the bike, both on flat roads and in the mountains the bike behaves very well. in short I have a real pleasure riding without forgetting the Sram Force equipment / power sensor, total casi integration of the sheaths, 404 tubeless disc wheels (to find better you have to go on the second-hand market and again I I'm not sure) the only downside is being able to find one personally living in Isère after 6 months of waiting and looking at the availability every day I ended up finding it in Ardèche Décathlon Salaise more than 100 km away only available at the start of the year in France.

The best on the market for its price

Without a doubt the best on the market quality/price/equipment ratio. The right amount of rigidity without being excessive, excellent latest generation Sram Force groupset, Zipp 404 Firecrest rims with 5 bar max pressure and minimum 28mm tires make the bike comfortable and no less efficient. The overall behavior of the bike is very good, it restarts well without requiring too much effort, once launched you are on rails it no longer moves. It is not the lightest bike on the market, however it aims to be ultra versatile and there is no competition at this price. Received with a veiled disc which was revealed in store a few days later. Concerning braking, some people complained about the noise, we'll see when I finish breaking in. Just a small quibble on the size guide table that could be done better. A simulator would be great. The cardboard packaging of the bike is still quite far from what the competition (Canyon) offers, but that's just a detail. Finally, it would be nice if in the future customers could choose the sizes of different peripherals such as the handlebars, the stem or even the cranks. A little more customization. After a few rides I am very happy with this bike and absolutely do not regret my choice.

Higher level bike, identical if not better than bikes costing 10,000 euros and more.

La Bomba

A fan of mountain biking, I discovered road cycling with this bike. After 700km in 3 months, I am not disappointed, it's only happiness. This bike is a little bomb, you barely press and off you go. I was skeptical but the SRAM AXS is also super pleasant, the gears click very smoothly. The 28 tires are super reassuring for me who comes from mountain biking. The braking is very aggressive, which is great, but the small contact surface between the tires and the road means that the bike crashes very easily (I imagine that this is the characteristic of road bikes and not clean to this model) Two negative points: - the speedometer support for the Deda handlebars which is fixed via the jaws of the stem, not very practical to install. - the width of the ZIPP wheels which creates lift in the event of a gust, but on the other hand it probably also helps to gain speed and have a straight trajectory. Well, from an aesthetic point of view, it's just too beautiful. It corresponds exactly to what I expected based on the photos on the D4 website.

Composition

Frame (for bike): 100.0% Carbon

The rcr range

Made for winning races. The RCR lineup uses an aerodynamic frame that has been refined by aerospace engineers to make you as efficient as possible on epic climbs, leading out the peloton, and sprinting for the finish line. These no-compromise bikes have performance-focused builds that share the same DNA for every rider, from first-time Gran Fondo entries through to the pros on the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team at the Grand Tours.

What's the difference between the rcr and the rcr pro frame?

Carbon road bike frames are defined by two main factors; geometry and carbon layup. The RCR and RCR Pro share the same geometry, that means you’ll be in the exact same position on your RCR bike as the elite riders will be in on their RCR Pro bikes at the Tour de France. The difference is in the layup. The RCR uses high-modulus fibers while the RCR Pro uses a more complex process that improves the overall stiffness of the frame in the world's fastest races.

Beautifully lightweight frame

The RCR frame manages to squeeze performance and efficiency into a lightweight package that tips the scales at 1.82 lbs in a size Medium. Go for the RCR Pro and drop down to a brilliantly light 1.74 lbs, with still enough tire clearance for 33mm tires. Add in the carbon fork that weighs only 13.4 oz and you’ve got a fantastically light bike that’s made for charging up mountain passes.

Always in control cockpit

Hold the fastest line around bends and pick your way through the peloton with the integrated and size-specific cockpit. The Deda x Van Rysel Superbox EVO stem and Deda Superzero RS carbon bars help dampen feedback from the road. XS bikes come with an 80mm stem and 400mm bars. S bikes have a 90 mm stem and 400 mm bars. M bikes are fitted with a 100 mm stem and 420mm bars. L frames come with a 110mm stem and 420mm. While the XL models are finished with a 120mm stem and 440 mm bars.

Sram force groupset and quarq power meter

Once you experience an electronic groupset, you’ll never want anything else. The SRAM Force Black eTap AXS groupset keeps your bike feeling incredibly snappy and responsive. Know exactly how hard you’re working and track your training progress with the Quarq power meter that attaches to the crankset and links to the SRAM AXS app. The whole groupset tips the scales at just under 6 lbs to help keep the overall weight of the RCR Force as low as possible without compromising on performance.

Laced with a set of Michelin Power Cup tires, you’ll be breaking your personal records in no time.
