The best on the market for its price

Without a doubt the best on the market quality/price/equipment ratio. The right amount of rigidity without being excessive, excellent latest generation Sram Force groupset, Zipp 404 Firecrest rims with 5 bar max pressure and minimum 28mm tires make the bike comfortable and no less efficient. The overall behavior of the bike is very good, it restarts well without requiring too much effort, once launched you are on rails it no longer moves. It is not the lightest bike on the market, however it aims to be ultra versatile and there is no competition at this price. Received with a veiled disc which was revealed in store a few days later. Concerning braking, some people complained about the noise, we'll see when I finish breaking in. Just a small quibble on the size guide table that could be done better. A simulator would be great. The cardboard packaging of the bike is still quite far from what the competition (Canyon) offers, but that's just a detail. Finally, it would be nice if in the future customers could choose the sizes of different peripherals such as the handlebars, the stem or even the cranks. A little more customization. After a few rides I am very happy with this bike and absolutely do not regret my choice.

Higher level bike, identical if not better than bikes costing 10,000 euros and more.

La Bomba

A fan of mountain biking, I discovered road cycling with this bike. After 700km in 3 months, I am not disappointed, it's only happiness. This bike is a little bomb, you barely press and off you go. I was skeptical but the SRAM AXS is also super pleasant, the gears click very smoothly. The 28 tires are super reassuring for me who comes from mountain biking. The braking is very aggressive, which is great, but the small contact surface between the tires and the road means that the bike crashes very easily (I imagine that this is the characteristic of road bikes and not clean to this model) Two negative points: - the speedometer support for the Deda handlebars which is fixed via the jaws of the stem, not very practical to install. - the width of the ZIPP wheels which creates lift in the event of a gust, but on the other hand it probably also helps to gain speed and have a straight trajectory. Well, from an aesthetic point of view, it's just too beautiful. It corresponds exactly to what I expected based on the photos on the D4 website.

Professional racing bike

Among us there are "so far" quite a few lucky people who have had the opportunity to purchase a new RCR from VR. I already have good experience with a road bike from Decathlon, which is why when choosing a new bike I chose the new RCR model. Last year I rode of the EDR model in the SRAM Force AXS D1 version. This gives the opportunity to try to simply describe the basic differences and comparisons. At first visual impression, when I put the bikes side by side, the RCR model looks like a bigger predator and an aggressive racer. Everything is beautifully clean, nothing rattles , everything looks integrated. What is even more noticeable at first glance, for the firstly higher rims by a class of better ZIPP Firecrest 404 wheels and secondly the new generation SRAM Force converters. These are subjectively much nicer than the previous model. The wheels are very similar in weight.. .plus/minus 100g. I changed the pedals and went to test the bike right away. At first impression compared to the EDR, noticeably stiffer when pedaling. The bike just wants to go forward. I was also surprised to see the Garmin where it jumped 35km/h. I normally ride 32 here km/h (similar weather). What I'm sensitive to is when something rattles or resonates on my bike. The problem with the EDR was that the integrated brake hoses were not wrapped with foam cushioning inside the frame. So it did mischief on rougher asphalt. The RCR is completely silent, all I can hear is the rustle of tires and the pleasant hum of the Zipp wheels. I will then convert them to tubeless in the spring and that will improve the comfort a little. What is also different here is the area of management. The bike comes with top Deda aero carbon handlebars and a Deda Superbox stem. One would expect an all-carbon cockpit according to the latest trends. But in the end, I'm glad that's not the case. I will need 1 cm shorter stems and I can't imagine solving that within the whole combo. I heard that VR is preparing its own cockpit as well, so when I find the ideal positions, I'll take one. But there's no need... I've only ridden the bike for a few kilometers and I'm still very impressed. I'm already looking forward to spring. You can see that there is a lot of work and technological research behind it. Other overpriced brands, look forward!

Incredible value for money,…

Incredible value for money, rigid and dynamic. It’s a very efficient bike!

I am very satisfied…

I am very satisfied with my bike, very nervous at the first pedal stroke, it starts, the gears shift very quickly without any cracking noise, super aerodynamic, I recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive high-end bike, a professional bike, good material in the more magnificent it is.

A great product at a reasonable price

It goes well in everything, especially on downhill slopes, it is a bicycle on par with the high-end range of bicycles from top-level brands. Smooth and precise electronic shifting, the tires

Service at the level of the product

I would like to change my previous rating. The attention received has finally been exemplary, both online and especially in the Majadahonda store, where the Cycling Manager, Nacho Rieiro, has taken my case very seriously and has provided exemplary attention (as well as his team). In short, a great product and attention that strives to improve things and ensure that the customer is satisfied.

What fun!!!

Once you have gone through the stage of ordering this product (deadline, communication, etc. which is as hard to overcome as a HC pass with the wind in your face). We find ourselves with a bike making us believe for a moment that we will be leaving one of the monuments soon. Having more of a size like Peter Sagan who stopped cycling 10 years ago than Pogacar after a month of riding, I find this a bike that can support and respond to the pachydermic finesse of my pedal strokes. I'm 1.89M and I took it in L. Which is perfect, my old RV was in XL and it didn't fit. The finish is elegant (except perhaps for the handlebar tape which must not have absorbed most of the budget), the black dress makes you believe in a thoroughbred and the contrast with the Michelin tires gives an even more racy side to the bike. All this lulled by the sweet music of the ZR1 hubs. For my entry into the world of disc brakes and electric transmission.... I am overwhelmed, how could I have done it before? It looks like Swiss watchmaking!!! The return on investment is equal to the pleasure we take on this machine.!!! The only downside was when I went to pick it up, they gave it to me as if it were a BTWIN bike for €150. It seems that I idealize this bike more than the Decathlon advisors, which is a shame... and a little frustrating because you seemed to be doing everything to give an impression of rarity and exclusivity. To conclude because I am boring as a plain stage. I think this bike will give great thrills to both seasoned riders looking for the best price/performance/technology ratio and to cyclists who have the means to pursue their passion. Sprint to a store because it's just fun!!

What a bike… worthy of the biggest brands

Congratulations to the Van Rysel teams for the development of this magnificent bike, both in terms of the finish, the quality of assembly and the unbeatable price. The bike was delivered to the Roncq / Neuville store, assembled with the greatest attention by Sébastien from the cycle department, I have nothing to complain about this service. The transmission is finely tuned. A team passionate about the little queen. The bike is a marvel, both in terms of aerodynamics and in terms of rigidity, the 28" tires provide a touch of comfort on rough roads. The 58mm wheels are slightly sensitive to side wind, but without putting us in danger The color is very sober and elegant. The matte remains sensitive to impacts and a little less easy to maintain than varnished paint, this is for the moment the only fault that I notice.

Go to another dimension

The rigidity of the frame is remarkable. This bike is certainly designed to achieve performance, and this is felt on every pedal stroke, it's pure speed, pure joy, it's a good machine for future competitors and for purists the RCR Pro will be the Holy Grail. The bike is equipped with 28 mm Michelin tires inflated to 5 Bars in the inner tube, which offers a certain level of comfort, I am not a fan of tubeless, part of my anatomy really does better on my long rides " noble distance” between 100 and 120 km, add a FIZIK ANTARES saddle and off you go for hours of pleasure. The wireless electronic SRAM Force groupset is a must to use, providing smooth and reliable shifting. In addition, the Zip 404 wheels are wickedly aerodynamic, especially in side wind conditions, I tested during an 80 km outing with an average wind of 30 km/h, you still have to stay focused. But overall I was very surprised by its handling. The braking is disc so it brakes like thunder. It's light, fast, stiff and Aero and comfortable and the price I haven't found better in the price range. Conclusion, thanks to Jérémy who specializes in postural studies of the Wavre decathlon. He defined the right size for my RCR and gave lots of constructive advice, since I was going for the FCR, a great machine too. You should know that the Wavre decathlon offers a postural study in order to define the right size of your bike. Jérémy delivered my RCR to me, it was custom-tuned by them, he explained to me very well how the SRAM AX works. Well done Jérémy.

What more could you ask for at this price?

Comfort, dynamism, line, groupset... This bike has it all. What more could you ask for at this price? On the road the behavior is wonderful. Well done Van Rysel.

Fighter jet

This bike is killer! Already previously spoiled with an EDR Ultegra, we go up another notch: we don't feel the weight, the balance between the wheels, the tubeless assembly and the frame offers incomparable comfort, it sends and it goes up very quickly in speed a treat. The Sram group has nothing to be ashamed of compared to Shimano, the comfort of electric is undeniable, difficult to go back once you have tasted it. A few minor flaws that deserve a 9/10: I find the stem and the seat post screw cover a little cheap compared to the rest. And stocks are always a little complicated, a queuing system would be welcome. That being said, at this price/equipment level there is no equivalent among the competition. In terms of value for money, it's unbeatable and the choice of components is really balanced. Thank you Decathlon for this gem, you have really done a good job with this new range and you have made me a won over buyer.

A rocket

The CPR is really very efficient without being a crowbar. The value for money is unbeatable, especially since I personally find this bike magnificent. Surprisingly comfortable bike, I really didn't expect it to be so nice to ride it. Very good performance, especially above 35 km/h where it seems like it moves almost on its own. I hope one day we will have a Van Rysel carbon stem handlebar combo, and it will be perfect in my eyes. The only downside is the saddle, which really isn't suited to my body shape, but it's not very serious or hard to change.

Frame (for bike): 100.0% Carbon

The rcr range

The RCR range is a real treat for cyclists who want a complete bike with no compromises. For this bike, performance was our priority. The cross-sections of every tube have been calculated to be as efficient as possible in the main wind angles (-15°/+15°)This bike falls within the ”lightweight aero” category of bikes, offering the perfect balance between weight, rigidity and aerodynamics and resulting in an exceptional bike.If you're after a bike designed to win races, the RCR is for you!

What's the difference between the rcr and the rcr pro?

What makes a carbon frame is its geometry, its shapes and its layup. The layup is how the carbon fibres are assembled. Not all fibres have the same properties. On the frame of the RCR, we only use high-modulus fibres. On the RCR PRO, we've chosen exceptional fibres that make the bike stiffer in the areas that are put under the most stress and that slightly reduce the weight. The RCR PRO is ready to compete at the highest level.

A closer look at the frame

The RCR's frame weighs 830 g (painted) in size M The RCR Pro's frame weighs 790 g (painted) in size M The RCR's fork weighs 380 g (painted) in size MThe frame can take tyres up to 33 mm wide. There may be slight variations in weight depending on the colour (+/- 50 g).

Cockpit

We've cleverly integrated the parts of the headset so that the RCR steers smoothly while remaining easy to maintain.DEDA x VAN RYSEL Superbox EVO: the stem is lightweight yet sufficiently rigid XS: 80 mmS: 90mm M: 100mmL: 110 mmXL: 120 mm Deda Superzero RS (carbon) handlebarHandlebar width: XS/S: 400 mmM/L: 420 mmXL: 440 mm

Sram force groupset and quarq power meter

The RCR bike is equipped with the SRAM Force Black eTap AXS complete groupset and Quarq power meter. A power meter is a must for cyclists who want to plan their training to help them improve.Total drive train weight: 2700 g with power meterThe electronic groupset has two separate batteries (one for each derailleur). You can use the SRAM app to set up your bike and view data from your rides.

Drive train maintenance

Please note that it is important to regularly service your drive train, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads).Regular maintenance will help your drive train to last for longer. You should regularly check your chain with our chain wear indicator, which is available on our website.

Lifespan of a drive train

When buying a bike, it's important to take into account the cost of servicing it, especially as regards the drive train. The amounts below are averages and are given so that you have a general idea of what to expect. They will of course vary depending on the care you take of your drive train. The average lifespan of a well-maintained chain is 5000 km.The average lifespan of a cassette is 10,000-12,000 km.A poorly maintained chain can jump, which can damage your bike's frame.

Disc brakes

SRAM Force disc brakes with 160 mm rotors at the front and back. The SRAM Force brakes are hydraulic. This gives you progressive, more powerful braking than with cable-actuated hydraulic brakes. You will need to bed these brakes in. Simply brake gradually 20 times at a low speed (20 km/h), then repeat at 30 km/h. Make sure to bed in both brakes.Bedding in creates more friction between the disc and brake pad.

Guarantee

Our carbon frames and forks come with a 5-year warranty.
