Questions & Answers

Question:

How does someone wash one of these safely (a camper had an accident overnight)?

Answer:

These pads are not designed to be machine washed or dried. To clean the pad, first lie it down on a clean surface and close the valve. Then, wipe it down with a sponge/cloth and a mild soap. Lastly, rinse it with a clean sponge or spray it down with a hose outside.

TREKKING MAT - 180 X 52 CM

This mat is great, my friend, it's the first time I've slept on an inflatable mat. It offers a great sleep. I normally have back pain. I wish I had bought a wider one, but it seems to be enough to match the sleeping bag dimensions.

Price Performance

I definitely take it every time I go camping. +Some things to watch out for are; -There should be no sharp or cutting objects on the place where it is laid. -You should not inflate it 100% like a football, if you inflate it to 80% pressure and lay it out, you will be more comfortable by leaving some flexibility. In addition, the ease of carrying is really good.

Quality

It looks like a really nice product and it is easy to inflate and comfortable 9/10

Very comfortable

Weight isn't justified by the comfort!

Not the comfiest of mats and I did have to assist with the inflating which you don't expect with a self inflating pad... But nevermind! it does look nice and has some silicone like grips on the pad so you're sleeping bag doesn't slide around which I found helpful. Combining this and a decent foam mat is the best way to ensure some comfort. Bit too bulky for my liking when wild camping but works well when driving to a camp site

Although the automatic inflator cannot be fully charged, it is still very convenient. Although it is thin, it feels good to sleep on (currently it only covers flat ground), and the price is very affordable👍

Cons: Inflates about by itself 70-80%? around there even after you inflated fully it’s genuinely not the best sleeping pad. It’s not thick and doesn’t provide a good R value . Theres really no point of having a self inflatable sleeping pad the other sleeping pads are better than this. The size is a huge issue , it takes such a big space despite it being fully deflated . This product does not make sense overall I do not see any pros in this product please relook onto this product other sleeping pads that are offered here are significantly better than this product.

self-deflating YES. but self-inflating NO.

This is my second one. Both have the same faults, good lung capacity is essential. Don't expect this mattress to inflate on its own. On the other hand, it deflates very well on its own. You start the night on a mattress and end it on the grass. As for the solidity, none. Perfect for sleeping on a golf green or carpet but certainly not off-piste and what's more, when it bursts it is not possible to repair it. As soon as it is unrolled, it becomes impossible to roll up tightly. I have two dead ones in my garage.

Self-inflating hiking mattress

easy to transport, fits in a small space. Easy to use, it was nice to sleep on it. I used it both in a tent and in a hall.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Foam: 100.0% Polyurethane ; Floor mat: 50.0% Thermoplastic Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Main fabric: 50.0% Thermoplastic Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyester

The principle of a self-inflating mattress

A self-inflating mattress consists of an airtight envelope glued to an open cell foam in which the air circulates. When you unfold your mattress, it will regain its shape and thickness (2.5 cm for this MT100 mattress) and fill with air. However, it requires some mouth inflation so you can adjust it to the pressure level suitable for you. Self-inflation is more or less noticeable depending on the thickness of the mattress.

Easy inflation/deflation

When using your mattress for the first time, unroll it, open the valve for 24 hours on a flat surface, then inflate it and leave it for 24 hours, valve closed, under pressure. Then you can store it away again. While trekking, take out and unroll your mattress as soon as you set up camp, valve open to facilitate pre-inflation. A self-inflating mattress inflates to about 60 to 70% on its own. You will need to blow up the rest yourself, so you can adjust the pressure to your desired comfort level.

What is the r-value?

The R-Value is a measure of the thermal insulation. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress. Please note that the R-Values can be added; this means that you can use two mattresses and add their R-Values.All our mattresses are tested to standard ASTM F3340-18.

What r-value for what use?

R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) onlyR-value from 2 to 3: 2 or 3-season (spring-summer-autumn)R-value from 3 to 4: 4-seasonR-value of 4.5 and higher: Use in all 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitudes)

Tips for sleeping well on your mattress

Once you are lying down, remember to adjust the inflation pressure of the mattress by slightly pressing the IN valve (open cap). A mattress that is too hard is often synonymous with discomfort.Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are designed to reduce the sliding of your sleeping bag on the mattress.

How to repair a leaky mattress

An inflatable mattress is not puncture-proof, but it can be repaired! When using it, take every care when installing and handling it. In the event of a problem, we recommend using self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8557113).

Product testing

All our mattresses undergo mechanical performance and resistance tests to guarantee you the best night's sleep and recovery (thermal and abrasion resistance, etc.). We also carry out several field tests in real-life conditions.

Storage instructions

To ensure your product's resistance and reliability, store it flat, valve open, in a dry, temperate place.
