Questions & Answers

Look for product information, frequently asked questions, opinions...

Question:

I saw you are considering new colors for the men's vest. I suggest some natural colors if you add to this women's line as well. All the competing down jacket brands only carry black and maybe a blue or purple. We need some natural colors, green, gray, etc.

Answer:

Thank you for sending this feedback. We will make sure to share it with the product manager.

Very comfortable and practical

Nice product. So light

Taken this on many multi-day runs. Lightest option, packs very small, and fits me well as a man.

nice... the armholes are wide: practical for wearing several under layers... but a little big (and therefore less aesthetic) if you only have 1 or 2 under layers.

XL down vest looser

The XL vest is looser at 100 in the bust. L is tight. I have 2 sizes. Excellent quality. I love wearing them.

Great tank top

It works very well on colder days. Down works well and is warm. When rolled up, it takes up little space, so you can take it with you in a backpack to the mountains. I recommend the vest.

the shape is not excessively tight

an elegant down jacket

the space to pass the arms is too wide so the down jacket is less warm

Warm

A very useful thing

Given that the vest is my must-have item for every season, of every weight, this light one is perfect for the summer mountains in the sun, especially on a bike, combined with a very light long-sleeved shirt and long, light technical trousers. Protected from the sun and a few drops of rain. And it's also nice for a stroll in the evening...

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to Inchtrap Inch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. For this down jacket with its 85% down and 15% feathers filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 800 CUIN or more (international standard).

What are the advantages of a duck down and feather filling?

The durability and fill power properties of down give this jacket three qualities for hiking:- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers- Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack- Ultra-compressible

In case of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric which delays the penetration of water into the quilted jacket while you get out of the rain. We nevertheless recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the padded jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to the rain.

How to maintain your quilted down jacket

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
