I haven't tested this down jacket in extreme conditions yet, but I chose it for my climb of Toubkal in Morocco. It seems ideal for facing the cold, with good insulation and a practical hood. What is also a plus is that it can be easily stored in its storage bag, which makes it practical to carry during treks. Lightweight and comfortable, it seems promising for high mountain conditions. Can't wait to try it out in the field!
This is what I needed, warm, compresses nicely, great as an additional layer of insulation.

The jacket is definitely recommended! If you are looking for an inexpensive down jacket with high warmth and good pack size, this is the jacket for you. One tip, however: for people who train regularly and therefore have a fairly broad back, buy a size larger. Otherwise, the jacket will pinch your lats under your armpits.
Exlent and highly comfortable
Probably the cheapest premium down jacket on the market. Only used a few times, but it works flawlessly.
Processor of a Decathlon down jacket purchased in 2017 I wanted to replace it because it was pierced in different places. So I went back to Decathlon for the value for money. This one is better finished adjustment at the hood, at the waist, the pocket on the chest
The purchase was very agile through the app and the in-store pickup was fast. I would improve the aesthetics of the exterior chest pocket with the same shape as the entire jacket, although I consider it to be a great purchase.
I recommend the jacket for winter days, very well made and takes up very little space. The set includes a bag to compress it. It is ideal for the mountains or for a trip.
One wash and the jacket is unusable . Is a one time wearing stuff . Not recommend this item !

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 14°F (-10°C) during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its comfort temperature is 0°C in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
A snag? how to repair your fleece
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. We have repair patches that you can purchase!
Product testing
4 independent Forclaz trekkers and 4 members of Forclaz tested this down jacket during 3 days of trekking in November 2021 up to 9842 ft. altitude near Chamonix in the Mont Blanc Country. The feedback given to us after this test let us validate this down jacket for mountain trekking.
