- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT900 ULTRALIGHT only weighs 2.9 lb and can contain a total volume of 50 liters which we recommend for a trip under 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extra 10 liters of volume.

its a nice rucksack I would not say it is ultralight weight as such. the worrying thing about the side pockets is they are open at the sides which is a bit strange. But it has a good back system.it is lightweight it is a little bit heavier than my old osprey exos 48 L.

The backpack is good, but still quite heavy for ultralight. It wobbles a bit while hiking, which bothers me, and when heavily loaded, the frame presses into my shoulders.
After using this bag on several long treks I can assure you that it is worth the cost! Good value for money, I recommend it.
A very good backpack for experienced tourists who follow the light & fast principle on multi-day trips. The backpack is roomy and relatively light for its size. The lightness comes from the use of relatively thin materials and a delicate and minimalist construction. It is certainly not as resistant to abrasions and tears as other classic backpacks, so you have to be careful on rocks or when breaking through the forest so as not to tear it on a branch. However, I take care of the equipment I buy and prefer to have half a kilo less on my back, because it makes a difference when you hike every day for several days from morning to evening with a load of 8-10 kg. I am 196 cm tall and thanks to the adjustment, the backpack fits very well on my back. I made a conscious choice, I already have several other branded backpacks with different capacities and this one works very well in this category/capacity. Thanks to the straps on the bottom of the backpack, I can attach a very light 2-person MSR Hubba Hubba tent. Unfortunately, when hiking in the mountains on very uneven terrain, when there are bigger shocks when going down the mountain, these straps holding the tent loosen and I have to tighten them every half hour - an hour and this is really the only downside I found to this backpack. Apart from that, a very good specialized construction. I definitely recommend it, but for conscious users.
I've never used another hiking pack. It's light and practical, despite the occasional creak and a significant amount of fragility. I used the first one for 7,000 km and the second for 5,000 km (it didn't like bush-bashing or bus compartments). It hates being overloaded; the foam and seams aren't designed to carry more than 16 kg. I've overloaded it a few times, and it's easy to repair. The waist belt, however, is irreparable when it tears at the bag. The biggest drawback: the waist pockets are great, but unfortunately they're not waterproof. Not suitable for bush-bashing.

Air design
Inspired by its sister, the MT500 AIR, this bag replicates many of the features of its ventilated back structure with a mesh fabric so that the back can breathe more and dry quickly.
Capacity
50 L volume +10 L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new MT500 AIR and MT900 UL series of trekking backpacks have two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 12 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.

Product testing
All our backpacks are field-tested by users who represent the target market in conditions identical to those found in typical use. In particular, our Test Missions bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with DECATHLON to test, improve and validate the products. This particular model was tested over a five-week period by trekkers in the Canaries, Pyrenees and the Mont-Blanc mountain range.
