- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT500 AIR only weighs 3.7 lbs and can contain a total volume of 50 liters which we recommend for a trip over 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extral 10 liters of volume.
- This backpack has plenty of features if you are looking for a technical option at a fair price: AIR concept back ventilation, rain cover, water bottle holder, hiking poles holder, 8 pockets and a compartment for a water bladder for easy hydration.

Questions & Answers

Question:
Hi! How do I remove stays of this backpack?
Answer:
We recommend reading this page https://www.decathlon.com/blogs/sports-advice/how-to-care-for-your-backpacking-bag for complete details.
Question:
Is the fit - the suspension - adjustable? I'm 6-2
Answer:
We're happy to inform you that the torso length of the backpack is indeed adjustable to accommodate different body sizes, including yours at 6'2". To ensure a comfortable fit, it's essential to measure your torso length accurately. This measurement is the distance between your 7th vertebra (the prominent bone at the base of your neck) and your ilium (the top of your hip bones). Our backpack's adjustable torso length ranges from a minimum of 39 cm (15 inches) to a maximum of 51 cm (20 inches). Additionally, the waistband of the backpack is also adjustable to provide a snug fit around your waist. The waistband adjustment ranges from a minimum of 79 cm (31 inches) to a maximum of 136 cm (54 inches). Furthermore, the back panel of the backpack is adjustable with a release strap, making it easy and quick to customize the fit according to your preferences and body size. For the most comfortable and personalized fit, we recommend measuring your torso length and waist size using the provided guidelines before making your selection.
Question:
Is this backpack waterproof? Thanks
Answer:
The backpack includes a raincover stored in the bottom pocket, providing protection from rain.

Product Customer Reviews
Very well-made pack and excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it. Only thing I don't quite like is the pocket configuration - it seems overengineered to me but that is personal preference.
stunning bag for the price, quality and features are unmatched against a lot of other brands at much higher prices, used for wild camping, heavier than some but the back system is really great, super comfortable
I bought this to follow Hadrians Wall from coast to coast and it was perfect. First of all, I could adjust all the straps so it sat fully on my waist and rode higher up my back how I like it. The waist belt pockets fit my phone and other bits and are large enough, and any bigger would be too big. The bottle pockets are good and I prefer the mesh one as smaller bottles can slip out the bottom of the other one so I just put a larger bottle in. The long side zip pockets fit plenty of flatter things eg one side had my lightweight camp chair, and the other side my stash bags eg first aid, clean kit, repair bag, poo kit, etc. The top pockets are huge on the lid so my cook kit and fuel etc. the bottom compartment takes my tent and a few other bits. You can open it up to join the rest of the bag but I like it easy access for my tent. The main compartment is smaller to allow for the curve of the back but to be honest I still love it and the main zip down the front should be on every bag! I don’t use the 3 compression straps inside that compartment as I just tuck things in snug and tight. The main thing is that it is soooo comfortable and was even on 20 mile days. It is so adjustable and well worth the money I paid.
Bought this backpack for a 2 month backpacking trip around South East Asia and had no issues with it. Recommend for those who plan to travel relatively light as the main compartment is not overly massive.
Top product and service
A very comfortable multifunctional backpack for mountain hikes and walks. Very sensibly designed. Convenient access to every item inside the backpack. Very good value for money.
Only used it once to try it out happy with the way it fits and feels hoping to get more used out next yr on longer days out
It's a lovely quality Rucksack with some great features, but one HUGE disappointment for me. The very bottom straps which hold your tent or sleeping mat are NOT the thick compression straps like you get on most rucksacks of this quality, instead they are pathetic flimsy things which are barley 10mm thick and constantly slipped under the weight of my average weight Two Man tent, this constantly came loose while I was hiking and became a real pain, I'd say they would be perfect for a thin rubber sleeping mat but useless for a tent, even a one man tent. This has left me very disappointed because the whole Rucksack now lacks versatility. Its a shame because the rest of it is superb, knowing this now I would never have brought it, hence I would not recommend.
Ok so this is definitely the bag! Having tried out 2 other bags before this got this watched the video and was blown away.. Tested on a 9mile hike and a bit of scrambling in the Peak district and was impressed, however used it recently to climb Scafell Pike via Broad Crag, Esk Pike, Bowfell, Crinkle Crags, 15kg and 2 nights of wild camping. The most impressive bit was during an all day downpour.. the waterproof cover covered the whole bag - to give in context: i had a sleeping bag in-between the lid and the opening at the top, a tent at the bottom that was horizontal, cooking gear, stove, gas etc and a sleeping mat which although wasn’t covered, wasn’t a problem! I really hope the bag does last but so far it has been through 3 rough days and it did well
I've had this pack for a few months now, used it for day hikes in the Lake District and wild camping in the Peak District, have to say I'm very impressed. It's light, and has some very clever features, strapping is good and it's very comfortable. All in all I would definitely recommend it.
Ive used this pack for 3 months now & feel that it has earned a review. I bought this pack on a spur of the moment purchase & have to say I have not been disappointed with it at all, I unbuttoned the lid as I didn't need it & use the pack for multi day hikes which I have now completed a few in this time. Its comfortable, fits my gear no probs and everything is at hand. Its a well thought out pack & for the price I paid puts a lot of dearer equivalents to shame. Time will tell if its durable or not but at the moment I have no worries over anything as its well constructed and fits my needs perfectly.
Didn't fit my back but it has some good points
I highly recommend
I was surprised by the quality of the backpack.
I ordered a backpack under the Simond brand, but received a model with the Forclaz logo. The bag appears to have identical features, but the brand name is confusing.

How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
