- This light puffer jacket has been designed for backpacking, yet offers a great design making it perfect for everyday use in cold and mild weather.
- Warmth: From 23°F and warmer, this puffer jacket will keep you comfortably warm and is filled with recycled polyester: easier to wash than a downjacket.
- Compact and light: the MT100 jacket is packable into the left hand pocket. It only weighs 13 oz in size L.

What is the main difference between this jacket and the Forclaz Men's MT100 Hooded Down Puffer Jacket. Is one just down and one is synthetic or are there other differences. Are they both rated to the same temperatures?
Answer:
These are comparable products. In addition to the filling difference, the synthetic jacket dries off much quicker than the down filled jacket. Both jackets have the same warmth promise.

I ordered and received a Men's Synthetic Mountain Trekking Hooded Padded Jacket - MT100 - 5 degrees Celcius. My question is: should the zipper pull be on the left side on a men’s jacket?

Light and warm
Light and warm. The waterproof after small shower you will wet. But still ok for cold days

I have been looking for a new sythetic jacket for a while and looked at various brands. I love how decathlon products are designed and logos etc are discrete. great value great feel and very warm
I usually get down jackets, but when I saw the price of the synthetic one it was a no brainier. As warm and comfortable as my down jackets and easier to wash as well when the time comes
Much cheaper than similar. Kept me warm on Snowdon in January at -19°c (with other layers of course). Bit tight around neck.
I use this kind of jacket primarily as a piece of safety gear in the mountains, and would prefer a bright colour option. that said: this jacket is low cost and easy to clean. its very warm and great to pull out of your bag to put over the top when having a rest or break, or as a belay jacket when climbing. Because it's not natural down it will remain more insulating if it gets damp or wet due to either rain or persperation. the synthetic fill will be less vulnerable to falling out if it gets snagged on rocks or barbed wire compared to down. It dosnt pack down as small as some more expensive down options. (but they would not suit me anyway) packs easily into it's own left pocket so you wont have it's stuff sack blow away in the wind. used in multiple weather conditions already. very happy with this jacket.
This is with this price range
I love this. It’s affordable with a practical design, it’s lightweight, packs down really small that it’s almost like down. I got it as down is so temperamental with sweat and damp never mind rain but this can deal with that and more. And it’s toasty warm. Another success for Decathlon research and design. Why pay more!

Perfect fit for a small male. Light weight, packs down small. Very warm
Used it for a snowy winter trip early last year. This is marketed as men's clothing but I'm female 162cm and bought this as Decathlon didn't have an equivalent product for women, and even if they did, it was more expensive for the same thing?! I chose this mainly because it's packable, so it saves a lot of space when not in use. The warmth is acceptable for me. Of course, you can't expect this kind of lightweight down jacket to be extremely warm; you have to layer appropriately. It is snow repellent but I could feel the cold when I laid on the snow for some time. The only con is the sleeves are too long. But then again, even the sleeves of adult female jackets at Decathlon are too long for me. For this item, I could fold in the extra sleeve length so it's ok. 5 stars for value-for-money too, as the ultra lightweight down hooded jacket sold by the Japanese U brand is retailing at >$100 in SG! This item is less than half that price.
Bought this for June trip to Fjords around Stavanger, Norway. Coped brilliantly with sudden cold wind and not over-hot when sun came out.
Great jacket for the cash, super warm and comfy. Only criticism is , I'd like some internal pockets.

Durable materials
This polyamide canvas uses 20 denier threads (measurement unit of the thread) and resists up to 20,000 abrasion cycles. Durability is calculated using the Martindale test (Standard 12 947-2). This test is to rub the jacket’s material against another material to observe how the product resists wear. Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 39g/sqm, 20 denier Lining: 100% polyamide fabric 35 g/sqm, a mix of 15 and 20 denier threads.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. You will find it in store and on our website by entering the reference 8817233.
A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or synthetic fibres escape. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
Product testing
In November 2017, 6 backpackers (4 men and 2 women) with part of the Forclaz design team tested this padded jacket for four days in the Southern French Alps.We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for use for backpacking in the mountains.
Storage instructions
To keep the wadding inflated, we recommend you store your padded jacket on a hanger and not folded up in its pocket!
