Product Customer Reviews
Tested on a trek in the Vercors in the middle of winter, combined with a fleece. The down jacket doesn't take up space but still keeps you warm. It fits the description
I bought the jacket in December and today I washed it for the first time, scrupulously following the instructions on the label. I have washed it in water at 20 degrees on a delicate program and with a spin at 400 rpm. When it has dried I have seen that the filling has moved and there are areas where it has disappeared, which can be seen with the naked eye. Therefore, it has lost the inflated effect and looks like a paper pinocchio jacket. A disaster. Not worth it. It is very expensive for such a bad result. I have a big dislike because it was perfect for the cold and super light, as well as pretty. A shame.
After the first wash, which was carried out according to the instructions on the label, the padding "lost" from some parts of the jacket, so the jacket is not warm in these areas.

Never receive my order
Beautiful, comfortable, warm and light. It compresses easily and becomes so small that you put it in a small bag. Advise
The jacket is perfect for evening summer mountain trips for those who are cold :) Light, it doesn't take up much space in the backpack. The lack of a hood is a big plus for me. I heartily recommend it :)
Comfortable to wear
Very light, pleasant for a ride

Meets my expectations
It's so warm that it's unbelievable for such a thin jacket. There is no hood, so you can easily put on a hat and it doesn't roll up on the hood. My only regret is that the outer material is so thin that I have the impression that there will be a hole from any twig, but so far there are no holes, and this is my subjective fear. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I would buy it again. I hope they come out in some nicer colors.
Effective in mild temperate weather
This down jacket is not washable! I put it in the washing machine following the washing recommendations on the Decathlon website. The feathers clumped together. I waited a few days for my down jacket to dry and it was a disaster. I went to the after-sales service of the store where I bought it: I was told to shake it well every day, to wait for it to dry completely, 15 days I was told, and that my down jacket would then be fine. regained all its form and efficiency! Well no ! I went back after 15 days and was told that my down jacket was ruined, that I had to have it cleaned in the dry cleaners, even though machine washing is recommended by Decathlon! So I'm going to throw it away! It's a shame about the carbon footprint, it lasted me a few months! I am very disappointed with Decathlon!

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of -5°C during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is +5°C in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.
What is rds certification?
RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.
How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
How to repair your fleece?
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.

Product testing
All our down jackets are laboratory tested in 3 mph winds and worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, so that you can make the choice that best suits your use.
