Decent waterproof boot

I've had these boots for 6 months and have waited on purpose to give my review. This is my first pair using this brand. I'm very pleased with the durability and waterproofing of this boot having now gone through the wet winter months. I dog walk every day so they are well used and my feet have stayed warm and dry. Slight downside, I wish I had gone up half a size because they are on the snug side and my foot went numb a lot until about 4 months use. The laces are also a bit cheap. This hasn't put me off ordering in the future because I'm loving the dry feet. Thumbs up.

Best boots

Purchased these boots as needed new ones after hiking in the peaks and on my way down to do the gower costal path. Well these boots claimed 8 hours dryness they did not disappoint I walked through fields that were flooded. Salt marshes and rivers. 10/10.i hiked all 95 Ethels in these boots. They are amazing.

Comfiest and Driest

I use them for hiking in dry and wet weather, as well as cycling under the rain or if I expect a long day ahead at work. They are super comfortable and don't tire my feet and legs as if I were wearing normal shoes. If you go into very rocky terrain with very sharp edges they do cut the sole a bit, but the boot is still perfectly usable nonetheless.

Comfortable

These boots felt so comfortable as soon as I put them on

Amazing walking boots

I spent a lot of time in store choosing these as I struggle to find truly comfortable shoes. These are incredible. Very lightweight and could wall all day in them with no issues. Waterproofing works well too. Can't fault them and would buy again when these ones eventually wear out but so far they're still looking almost new despite numerous adventures.

Really comfy hiking shoes

Really comfy and easy care. I climbed a mountain over 4000m with it and it did the job well

Great walking boots

I have bought these boots a few weeks ago. They were very comfortable and warm from the first time wearing them. It’s a joy to go on long (and muddy) walks and staying toasty warm and dry. I would recommend sizing up one size.

Very comfortable

I recently did the PR1 hike and I saw 7 other women with these boots on. They were comfortable and my feet felt supported all the way!

Disappointing as not hard wearing enough

This is my second pair of these boots. They are the most comfortable I have had. Unfortunately my latest pair are not wearing well at all as the toe cap has come away after 6 months of light wear. My other pair after 10 months of regular wear are now worn down a great deal, compared to my other walking boots they do not compare well for durability. I am still waiting for a reply from Decathlon regarding my complaint.... hopefully they will be as good as their claim for customer support

Fabulous boots and super value for money

Well built and comfortable from the first wear. Straight into an 11 mile hike and no issues and no blisters! Good water resistance in long damp grasses

Great value hiking boots

I bought these at the Livingston Decathlon on the advice of a very lovely Sports Advisor as I have issues with weight of shoes and walking distances. These hiking boots are a lovely shade of light green and very stylish but I am amazed by how light they are on my feet (compared to my previous, and more expensive, Skechers boots). Unlike the Skechers, these Quechua boots don't feel huge or sluggish. These Quechua's are also quite padded inside for the soles of the feet and it is like walking on pillows. I love them. Yet to test their waterproof qualities but I'm sure they will be perfect.

Doing what their supposed to do.

Brought for my wife as she wants to start walking. Very comfortable, light and seem to be waterproof so far.

Extremely comfortable

I've been wearing these boots for dog walking approx 4 times a week, an hour each time. No rubbing, pinching or discomfort of any kind. Didn't even need wearing in, very comfortable right from the first wear. They are light, padded and slightly flexible but still sturdy on uneven ground.

What frequency and intensity of hiking?

We have classified our products in terms of performance and features for 3 levels of hiking:- Occasional: around ten hikes per year, each lasting 3 to 4 hours, covering less than 6 miles with less than 2,300 feet of elevation gain.- Regular: about 20 hikes per year, each lasting 4 to 6 hours, covering 6 to 12 miles, with 2,300 to 4,000 feet of elevation gain.- Intense: more than 20 hikes per year, each lasting over 6 hours, covering more than 12 miles, with 4,000 to 6,500 feet of elevation

Outdoor contact sole

Featuring a high-performance sole crafted with our exclusive rubber blend, developed by our experts for improved grip and durability. The sole’s grip is enhanced using 3D simulations and lab-tested to measure traction on various surfaces and in different conditions. Final validation is done through real-world mountain testing with a panel of testers

Waterproofing test

In the lab, the shoe is submerged in water up to mid-height and flexed by a mechanical arm to simulate walking steps. This test measures how long and how far the boot can go while staying dry. Field tests, including walks in the rain, then confirm the shoe’s waterproof performance.

Extended waterproofing

To keep your feet dry, we recommend using waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters to protect the tops of your boots and prevent water, pebbles, and sand from entering.Re-waterproof your boots twice a year with a waterproofing spray to restore their original water-repellent qualities and reduce exterior staining.

Product design: our expertise

The Quechua global design center is located in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This prime location brings together our teams—designers, product managers, engineers—and outdoor sports enthusiasts, creating an inspiring space for developing hiking products and sharing our expertise with you.

Which size should i select?

The most important thing is to try on multiple sizes and styles of boots to find the best fit for you! Consider going up a size to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box on downhill sections, as long as the fit still provides enough support to avoid friction.Tip: keep your toenails trimmed, and before a long descent, check that your laces are snug enough to prevent your foot from sliding forward inside the boot.

How to prevent blisters

Blisters often develop when friction weakens the skin. To help prevent them, we recommend:- Choosing the right shoe size- Wearing appropriate socks- Properly tying and tightening your shoes- Adjusting your laces as needed, especially before a climb or descent- Breaking in your shoes on a short outing before a longer hike.

Which socks?

A waterproof shoe typically offers less breathability than a non-waterproof one. For optimal moisture-wicking and reduced friction, we recommend socks like the MH500, MH520, and MH900, which feature a medium upper.

Optimise the capabilities of your boots: replace your insoles

The original insole in your shoes is designed for a wide range of feet. However, switching to a different insole can offer several benefits:1. Enhanced Support: Some insoles are specifically shaped or reinforced to provide better arch support. 2. Increased Comfort: Many insoles offer additional warmth and cushioning for a more comfortable fit. 3. Extended Lifespan: Replacing the insole each season can help maintain the support and comfort of your shoes. Inch

Product testing

Our hiking shoes are first tested in our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, which also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together several themes, each with their own area and technological tools.
