Tested while camping, people fell on the tent, which broke the umbrella system and is not covered by the warranty

Great product
I love him. He didn't disappoint. Wind rain and frost in Sweden at the end of October.
Hello, I am putting my opinion here, but I am also speaking to Decathlon R&D. I would like to point out that this is a kind comment. I'm from Brittany, I've been buying tents, camping accessories and decathlon backpacks since 2006. I do classic camping, hiking, backpacking trips such as Australia, Canada, mountains (non-professional, just adventurer) and music festivals. Last year we bought this tent with my partner in anticipation of a road trip to Norway where we spent two weeks 100% nature (in August). We were attracted by the very quick disassembly and reassembly (aim to set up a camp in less than ten minutes flat), by the large interior (and vertical) space, and by the practical storage. We used the tent in these multiple conditions: Very heavy and intense rain, storms, good weather, temperatures from 7° to 15°. We pitched the tent in the forest (open area with clean ground, i.e. grass and twigs) and in a grass type campsite. Total 10 nights, with use of a decathlon inflatable mattress (integrated foot pump). In short, we used it as usual with our other Decathlon tents. Back in France: We noticed that the ground cover had deteriorated. Compared to all the tents we've had, the ground tarp on this one is particularly thin (we assume it's an innovative tarp). Except that it is laminated on both sides with a transparent plastic layer. This layer of plastic was micro-torn in places *interior side*, almost everywhere (from 2 to 5mm in diameter), without the tarpaulin being perforated (it was just the plastic layer which had deteriorated). Thinking that this would impact the waterproofing of the tent, we went to Decathlon 2 months later to try to find a solution (no use since). The Decathlon staff were not friendly and questioned the veracity of our words... We found this exchange unprofessional and very limited, we had to insist that a solution be proposed. As a result, we exchanged our tent for a new one, with no possibility of refund. We have not used this new tent yet: Next departure in May 2024. Anyway, I would like to point out that apart from this problem: The tent is perfect. We have never seen a tent so simple and quick to set up AND take down. The storage is very practical. We like the feeling of not having the ceiling too close to us, we can sit and feel like we're in a big tent. The Fresh & Black is incredible: Full sun outside and almost complete black inside (The material does not obscure completely, but very convincing). We didn't feel cold even up to 7° outside and a lot of humidity. In short, great attempt but fingers crossed for the future. Photo available from the PB if necessary.
A great purchase, we had an intense snowfall in the mountains at 4100 meters above sea level and not a drop of water leaked, it has plenty of space and is super practical to install, the only detail is its weight, it weighs almost 5 kilos and they feel comfortable. the other is to transport it, for long walks it can be quite heavy.
Good quality material. THANKS
Product of the century for me!!! No need to ask any questions. Awesome. Total darkness
Excellent product
Very easy tent to set up and take down. The only downside is that I find the space small for two people.
As long as it cost 99 euros it was a 5 star tent but having increased the price by 40%, I mean forty percent, it is absolutely not worth the money spent. In the ten times that I used it, a piece broke, causing me quite a bit of inconvenience. Be careful how you open and close it because otherwise it's bitter shit.
Just what I was looking for
Setting up the tent seems a bit tricky, you have to be careful that the joints don't get stuck. Disassembly is very easy and quick. As you can't separate the canvas from the frame, it's a bit of a hassle to dry it because you have to partially deploy it, always taking care not to jam the hoops.
Additional Product Information
Composition
Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Structure: 50.0% Polyoxymethylene, 50.0% Glass Fiber
Setting up and breaking down the tent
Enjoy the exclusive ”EASY” push-button technology to pitch your tent in two seconds. The freestanding structure means you can move the tent once assembled to find the perfect location. Instant foldaway: once the tent is no longer under tension, you just need to fold it away in its bag.. First-time questions? Check out the instructions and online video.
Mattress compatibility
We recommend a self-inflating or hiking mattress measuring 25.6” maximum. We do not recommend using inflating mattresses over 2.4” in height as this greatly reduces the available space inside the tent and increases internal condensation..
Ventilation
Flysheet with two side panels that can be opened out and attached to the side guy ropes (opens from the inside). Air can circulate in the bedroom. The entire rear flysheet can also be lifted from the inside by pulling on a drawstring. Two spaces between the flysheet and the ground on each side in the bedroom enable the air to renew itself and limit natural condensation. This is a fresh concept to reduce the heat from the sun.
Waterproofing
All Quechua tents are validated in a laboratory (whole tent under 200L/sqm/h for four hours), as well as in the field (2000mm PU-coated polyester fly sheet, 4.2oz/sqm polyethylene groundsheet, all seams sealed using thermobonded tape). A breathable polyester bedroom under the flysheet means you aren't in contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly pitched tent with all guy ropes fitted around the tent must remain habitable in wind speeds up to 30mph near the ground (Force 6).
Product testing
Our design team conceives, plans and designs Quechua products in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc. We test them in the field with other campers, to check their comfort and durability. From Brittany to Corsica, we go to as many places as possible, in all weather conditions. These experiences are highly beneficial for us, allowing us to hear your feedback and start thinking about our future products!
Storage instructions
After use or cleaning, do not store your tent until it is perfectly dry to prevent odors and mold from forming.
