Very comfortable bag, We…

Very comfortable bag, You don't feel tight, the insulation is good. The only problem when you measure a large size (1m93m for me), the bag takes up space (20L in size XL) so the 50L hiking bag is forgotten and it's not easy to store it in the cover when you are just because it's bulky.

Sleeping bag

A light and practical sleeping bag, I recommend buying it.

Used by my partner,…

Used by my wife, suitable size, homogeneous warmth, the closures are practical and seem solid, the "bibs" and the hood are well designed to avoid drafts, and if necessary, you can open the zipper in the other direction (from the bottom, and therefore only ventilate the legs to manage your heat needs.

We have not tested…

We didn't test pairing because we didn't need it. On the other hand, I was very hot, we were between 4°C and 10°C, so I zipped up one side, turned the bag over like a simple blanket and took advantage of its warmth. I recommend the inner sheet sold separately which will allow greater comfort and hygiene

Sleeping bag with excellent ventilation options

Bought this sleeping bag for camping in Sweden. My son has used this every time in the hammock hanging outside. He never felt cold for a moment. Thanks to the extra lining at the neck, no cold came in. It is also nice that there is a zipper on both sides for more ventilation options. However, after rolling up the tent is not the smallest. Considering buying 1 more (for myself :-)

Comfortable but a little tricky to store

Down well suited to the intended temperature range of use. The material is not super comfortable but is still well tolerated. Storing it in the carrying bag is a bit complicated and must be done carefully; folding then rolling very tightly.

Use on a hot night…

Used on hot nights as well as on much cooler nights, I have so far had no problem keeping my body at temperature, so far it has given me a very good night's sleep outdoors. Now I'm waiting to see when the temperatures will be close to freezing.

I do not have it…

I haven't used it outdoors but it is perfect for those who are cold and very practical with these 2 side zippers.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Padding: 100.0% Polyester ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyester ; Lining: 100.0% Polyester

What is the temperature rating?

We display the comfort temperatures on all our sleeping bags, tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) in compliance with European standard ISO 23537-1:2022. The comfort temperature rating is the lower limit at which the user in relaxed posture is generally in thermal equilibrium and feels neither too cold nor too hot (for a standard woman in normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag according to this criterion.

What is the temperature rating (lower limit at which you feel comfortable)?

The comfort limit temperature is the temperature limit at which a person curled up in the sleeping bag is in general thermal equilibrium, neither too cold nor too hot (determined for a man in normal conditions of use).We recommend using an insulation mattress to optimise your thermal comfort.

An important clarification concerning the iso 23537-1 standard

In the context of this standard, the measurement protocol of a sleeping bag’s thermal protection uses a mattress with thermal resistance equal to an R-value of 4.8.This means that by using a less insulating mattress, the thermal performance of your sleeping bag will be lower. We therefore recommend you use an insulating mattress to optimise your thermal comfort.

Some advice to consider before you get into your bag

Dress simply (1 layer of clothing is enough). Warm-up your extremities: hats, gloves, socks, hand/feet warmers, rubdowns, etc. A flask of hot water can be used as a hot water bottle (as long as there's no chance of it accidentally opening!) Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is converted into heat) but do it without moving as this could create a draught. Use a bag liner to optimise warmth and avoid washing your sleeping bag too frequently.

Style

A generous mummy shape that is wide at the shoulders and narrow at the feet to optimise thermal insulation (no heat loss) and make the product more compact, while maintaining some freedom of movement.Width at the shoulders 72 cm, height at the feet 34 cm in size L. 64/30 in S, 68/32 in M, 76/36 in XL.

Weight and dimensions

Size S: 1450 g, user up to 1.59m tall. Bag dimensions: L 42 cm Ø 19.5 cm. Volume 12.5 L.Size M: 1550 g, user from 1.60m to 1.69m tall. Bag dim.: L 42 cm Ø 20.5 cm. Volume 13.9 L.Size L: 1670 g, user from 1.70m to 1.84m tall. Bag dim.: L 42 cm Ø 21.5 cm. Volume 15.2 litres. Size XL: 1790 g, user from 1.85m to 2m tall. Bag dim.: L 42 cm Ø 22.5 cm. Volume 16,7 L. Volume & dimensions may vary according to the compression applied to the product.

Functions

Ergonomic hood with drawcord.Double collar for protection from the cold.A baffle along the zips prevents heat loss.Double-slider zips for optimal ventilation. The top of the sleeping bag can be opened with the two side zips.

Want to know more about the wadding?

We use 2 layers of overlapping wadding: - one 115 gr/m2, 100% polyester (70% recycled),- and one 150 gr/m2, 100% polyester (70% recycled). The wadding is made from silicone-coated spiral fibres that make it highly compressible and highly durable. Despite its low thickness, it has high insulation properties thanks to the air trapped inside, and remains lightweight. It retains its warmth even when wet.

Compatibility

Can be twinned with all the Forclaz MT500 sleeping bag models. Can be twinned with the older models in the 2017 ”Ultralight” and 2018 ”Light” ranges.

Product testing

All our sleeping bags undergo mechanical tests that test the performance and resistance of the sleeping bag to guarantee better sleep and recuperation (thermal resistance, resistance to abrasion, comfort, etc). We also carry out many tests in the field, in real conditions.

Storage instructions

You can easily store your bag by stuffing it loosely into its cover, feet section first. To keep it fluffed up & ensure good thermal performance, remove from its cover, extend, store it in a dry place.
