Product Customer Reviews

Really loved this vest but I ordered the wrong size. Always order 1 size bigger than you normally wear. When my size is available i will definitely be placing another order
Very reasonable price
Great gilet, well made and good value
I've been looking for a down sleeveless jacket for a little while and was shocked by how expensive they were until I found this one. It's very light, very warm and comes with its own stuff bag. Make sure it fits snugly so no cold air gets between it and your other clothes and you'll be toasty. If the stuff bag was 1/3 smaller it would help pack it in smaller spaces, but it's hardly a show-stopper. Superb value for money.
Great quality for the price
having visited the Coventry store ,they ordered me one of these from another store , it is sold out online in most sizes ,I have to say i was sceptical it would appear - 2 days later it was instore the helpful assistant had tried another size on ,we agreed that they are a bit on the smaller size - pleased with the quality and definately with the service !
Warm, simple, good value gilet. Packs up nice and small. Have bought a jacket in the past which has lasted well so expecting the same from this.
Arrived quickly after order for starters. Tired it on for fit and it is sized correctly. Lovely and warm. snug but allowing freedom of movement. Well pleased.
A great Gilet for playing golf in the cold
good construction,very warm,very light
Really pleased fits well 34" waist, 38" chest. Great back up or on its own, definitely recommend.
great value product!
I normally buy Large - but went for Xtra Large for this purchase. This was a happy choice 'cos the sizes are a little smaller that normal
Really comfy, warm and lightweight. Looks great... Best gilet I own!
Ideal for keeping in my backpack for extra later of warmth to the body. Packs down so small and in own stuff bag. Only fault is the opening for the arms is elasticated and slightly too tight, making it ever so slightly uncomfortable in that area.

Padding: 90.0% Grey Duck Down, 10.0% Grey Duck Feather ; Lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester
Why wear a down gilet?
A gilet helps to keep the body warm: it protects the chest, neck and kidneys from the cold, as these areas a especially sensitive to chills. It is sleeveless so it saves weight in your backpack, provides even more breathability during exercise and excellent comfort of movement when worn under a jacket.Worn underneath the MT100 down jacket, it can provide 6°C extra warmth when compared to a down jacket worn without the gilet.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports:- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers- Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack- Ultra-compressible
Inflating power of down/feather filling
The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. For this sleeveless down gilet, with its 85% down/15% feather filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or more (international standard).
What is rds certification?
RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.

How to care for a down and feather gilet?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Video: https://youtu.be/6_wAcsvoHr0In summary: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin between 800 and 1000 rpm. 2/ - Tumble dry on cotton mode with 2 or 3 tennis balls, repeat 2 or 3 times until dry.
A snag? here's how you can repair your sleeveless down jacket
A tear on a padded gilet can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or to stop the feathers from escaping.Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded gilet using a heat-bonded patch.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The material of this down jacket is water-repellent; we recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over it in the event of prolonged exposure to rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How do i reactivate the waterproofing properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded gilet, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
