About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT500 AIR only weighs 3.8 lbs and can contain a total volume of 55 liters which we recommend for a trip over 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extra 10 liters of volume.
- This backpack has plenty of features if you are looking for a technical option at a fair price: AIR concept back ventilation, rain cover, water bottle holder, hiking poles holder, 8 pockets and a compartment for a water bladder for easy hydration.

This backpack is only practical if you don't use it. The bottle holders are inclined and the bottles hit your elbows, preventing free movement in mountain activities. The top iron doesn't allow you to raise your head if you get stuck because you crash into it. It only works for smooth floors that do not need water or if you are going to carry a hydration bladder. The only positive thing is the front opening, but it's of little use to you if you can't really take it anywhere. Without a doubt, the worst backpack of my life
perfect, adjustments adaptable to body shape, comfortable carrying, multiple storage options, good capacity and nice color!
I took this backpack for a hike this weekend. Very comfortable with plenty of adjustment options. I love the free air flow on the back. Durable construction and materials. A very nice backpack honestly. Supposedly made for women, it still works very well with both genders. The only thing I think could have been better is the bottle holder. Quite nice to have a bottle holder this being said. However, it works best with a certain shape of bottles. I had a different type of bottle and it got lost when walking. I feel like losing your bottle though the bottom of the bottle holder should not be possible, regardless of the type of bottle you use.

Solid backpack, lots of pockets. A plus is the rain cover included with the backpack.
It is much more than I expected, super comfortable for traveling and organizing things. :)
The price-quality ratio is exactly what I needed
After having had a unisex Ferrino 60lt for a lifetime, getting a backpack designed for women is a world apart. The comfort of wearing it is incomparable. The only thing I would have eliminated is some tensioning system. Too many adjustments and very long bands that I will definitely have to cut.

The bag is very practical but not comfortable enough at the belt level, the metal support rod hurts, difficult to position on the back because there are few explanations on how to put it on properly and another problem it makes noise when I walk precisely in terms of support with this rod, during a hike I have the impression of hearing only that. Damage . Otherwise on the practical side very good with its opening and its multi-pockets

The bag itself is great, lots of pockets, very practical, light... on the other hand the big downside is the discomfort I had with the belly strap (blue/irritation) despite different settings, I had to adjust it bring it back impossible to use it.. too bad it's a beautiful product

Capacity
The bag has a 55 L volume with an extra 10 L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.

Air design
As with the MT900 UL line, the MT500 AIR range has a ventilated back structure with mesh fabric (net fabric) that helps the back to breathe and dries quickly. Rigidity is guaranteed by a reinforced frame. The back is adjustable with a release strap that’s easy and quick to use.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this. The can also be detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
Female body shape
Our women's models are adapted to the female shape (chest and hips). The shoulder straps are more open and the waist fitted higher for greater comfort and freedom of movement.

All our backpacks undergo field tests by users who are representative of our target market under similar conditions to those you will encounter. To test, assess and validate products, our mission test connects the product manager responsible for the product design with individuals independent to DECATHLON. This backpack was tested by trekkers for 5 weeks in the Canary Islands, the Pyrenees and the Mont Blanc mountain range.
