Mom’s best gift

I bought this jacket for my mom and she loves it!! She uses it everyday on the cold nights. It’s very lighth and comfortable fitting large hip Latino woman very nice and still maintaining a nice feminine shape. Bought a size larger than usual and fits great.

The best lightweight jacket

I’ve tried a lot of brands of puffy jackets which were expensive ($200-$300) and the quality, feel, weight can’t compete with this jacket. A great product at a fare price. Also love the colors.

Good jacket

Kept me relatively warm in 30 degree cold.

Women’s hooded down puffer jacket

Love the jacket and color. Very soft and comfortable. Very warm. Easy to storage

Warm and awesom jacket

When I first opened the package I was shocked but how light the jacket was. My first thought was how is this going to keep me warm? Fast forward to today when I'm hiking in the low to middle 40s (F) with a strong north wind at 15-25mph and I was very warm. I only had a single base layer under the jacket but I was warm and toasty, even when sitting and cooking.

Not durable!

I have owned an Eddie Bauer Downlight jacket for 9 year,s and during that time have only put two tiny holes in it. It has been my go-to jacket, including gardening in the spring and hiking/camping throughout the summer. I just recently purchased my first Decathlon due to the rave reviews and the gorgeous pink color. Having only worn it about 10 times, I somehow got a decent size tear in the fabric close to the zipper! I am assuming it happened when my coat got caught in the zipper??? (My EB zipper has gotten caught numerous times and this hasn't happened!) This is by far the largest hole I have ever gotten in a light-weight down jacket! I can only conclude that the material is not as durable as my Eddie Bauer or Mountain Hardwear.....Very dissapointed because I was really digging the vibrant color:(

Great price for warm down jacket

I have a several models of down jackets via mountain hardwear that I really enjoy - that fit differently - but all in black. This hot pink color is SOOO fun. I love it. I got it in Large. I am a medium in MH. The large is a definitely a bit loose, probably can go medium but with the form fitted MH style i find my bust line to be kinda tight when i want to move my arms back while wearing a fleece under it. Most reviews were saying they run small, but i think it may be very similar to MH (in the form fitted shape). Thank god it has an elastic at the hip cuz it's extremely wide. I have to cinch it pretty dramatically to get it to not look ridiculous- it will stick out if you have slim hips. In terms of price, it's kinda a no brainer - for the similar price range, you pretty much only have synthetics to compare to. Some of the feathers have been poking out (1 month of daily wear) - not sure how long this will last, but my older MH has also lost its loftiness. I am happy with this purchase so far.

Great Puffer at the Price

Bought this puffer to replace one of a different brand which was wearing out after 10+ years. I've been wearing it on and off for the last 3 weeks in the early winter conditions of the Rocky Mountain Front Range. It does what it says. Warm, packable, with a hood that stays on. Zip pockets are generous enough to carry a phone, dog treats, gloves and kleenex. Zips are smooth to operate as is the bottom drawstring. Really like the way the cuffs are constructed; they fit nicely over the cuffs of my gloves. Over a synthetic base layer and a lightweight wool sweater, I've worn it comfortably down to about 18 degrees, F with negligible wind. Put it on and don't even think about comfort when the thermometer reads in the mid-20's. Partially zipped, it was more than enough going through shady forest at 34 degrees. Tonight was the first time I felt like I wish I had grabbed a different jacket, as it was windy; 28 degrees plus an 18 mph wind translates to a windchill of about 18 degrees. I was cool but not freezing cold. Thank you for being upfront about ordering one size up. I ordered an XL rather than an L and it fits well. A shout out to Dan Becker for talking about Decathlon and this jacket on his YouTube channel. I liked the jacket and Decathlon's service so I went ahead and bought the 0 F jacket as well.

Great product. I have several of these types jackets/coats. I would put this up against any of my high dollar, and at times overpriced, down jackets

Not happy

I’ve loved the jacket before I bought it and loved it more when I received it and staring using it but after the first wash following the instructions in your website it was ruined completely. I love decathlon products but this one didn’t meet my expectations since it only lasted 2 weeks.

Perfect

I love this jacket! It's perfect and the price is even better. I would recommend sizing up.

Great for layering

This coat is cozy and warm, plus you can't beat the price.

Excellent Jacket, Unbeatable Price!

This is an excellent jacket! It has the same fill power (800) but greater fill weight than both the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer and Phantom jackets (not parka), both of which retail for about $350! It is just about the same weight and shell is similarly nylon. I have had this jacket for two winters and love it. It is my go-to jacket for all winter sports, and in the summer and fall it compresses easily to throw in my backpack and use with my lightweight sleeping back on cold Sierra nights. I have the yellow (not keen on other color options or Decathlon's color options for women's products in general but love the yellow of this jacket) and absolutely love the color and fit (athletic). I bought a small originally but found it was a bit too big so returned for an xs. For reference, I'm 5'3", 125 lbs, 34" chest. My only complaints are that cleaning takes a bit of extra effort (have to hand scrub the sleeves to get clean, washing machine alone doesn't cut it), I don't think the down is water-resistant, and there is no chest pocket for keys and things, which is especially useful for winter-sport use since other pockets need to be kept open for hand warming.

Perfect backpacking jacket

Packable and lightweight, Perfect jacket for backpacking.

Down Packable Puffer Jacket

Great jacket!! Seems to run large for me. I'm returning for a smaller size! Can't wait to wear it! The only downsize about this jacket is I would have liked to the female jacket in black.

Thermal insulation - warmth

This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for a comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model wears a synthetic long sleeve T-shirt and light fleece underneath. It walks with a simulated 3 mph wind. In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars. We have also tested this model in ”static” mode; the comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.

What does rds certification mean?

RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organization to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to sourcing down humanely, using plumage from waterfowl that have undergone no undue harm..To find out more: https://www.forclaz.co.uk/what-is-rds-certification

Inflating power of down/feather filling

For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 800 CUIN (European standard). The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air, and provide greater thermal insulation.

The advantages of a duck down and feather fill

The durability and fill power properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking:- Thermal insulation provided by the air trapped in the down and feathers- Ultra low weight: Down is lighter than synthetic fill while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack- Ultra-compressible

In case of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water-repellent. The treatment is applied to the main fabric that makes drops of water run off the surface, thereby delaying the time it takes for water to get inside the down jacket, so you have enough time to get out of the rain. We nevertheless recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the quilted jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to the rain.

How to wash your feather down jacket

Here are a few tips: Close all the zippers on your down jacket and put it in the washing machine (synthetic cycle at 86°F). In order to preserve the fill power and warmth, you can even put 2 tennis balls in the machineBe careful to set a gentle spin cycle: a fast spin cycle may create balls of feathers that are difficult to break up.For more advice, click the link below! https://www.forclaz.co.uk/how-should-i-look-after-my-down-jacket

How to dry my down jacket?

When you take your down jacket out of the washing machine it will seem as if the down has gone. A tumble dryer is the best way to restore the fill power of the feathers. Put your down jacket in the tumble dryer with 2 tennis balls Run 2-3 drying cycles. If you don’t have a tumble dryer, you can completely dry your down jacket on a drying rack by turning it over and tapping regularly.

How do i reactivate the waterproofing properties?

The water-repellent treatment becomes less effective with time, washing, and use. This is how to reactivate the water-repellent feature of your down jacket! You can also use the care product: textile re-waterproofing liquid: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/fabric-waterproofing-liquid-250-ml/_/R-p-308192

Product testing

All our down jackets are laboratory tested in 3 mph winds and worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeve T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, so that you can make the choice that best suits your use.
