In actual use, it is indeed waterproof in light rain. However, the brim of the hat is hard and can easily hit the hiking bag, which is a bit inconvenient.
Too bad there is no choice at all in terms of color. A more feminine color for women would be nice.

Not very elegant, dull color, too soft
I am very satisfied. I use it while trekking and rowing, it is light, can be bent and fit into any pocket of the bag. It is a protective and breathable material. I recommend it to everyone.

Waterproofing
How does Decathlon measure waterproofing? At Decathlon, we don't just consider the intrinsic quality of the component (in this instance, a fabric with a 20,000 Schmerbers rating) but we also test the waterproof qualities of the finished product in an environmental chamber reproducing different precipitation levels. This hat will protect you from a 12 cm rain shower for 2 hours, or 60 L of water per hour and per square metre:quite a downpour!
What makes ripstop fabric more durable?
The ripstop fabric is a mesh-type fabric. The warp and weft design helps ensure durability and prevent potential tears.
