first layer of protection

practical for people who are cold

Practical in idea

Too bad the seams are so thick The touchscreen doesn't work perfectly I would have liked a much more second-skin and tight-fitting covering

Warming undergloves

Gloves fit snugly and you have a good grip.

They are very fine, until they break

My group and I insisted with these gloves, three years in a row'. No pair has lasted anyone more than 2 months to the first hole and a winter to the "unusable" stage. Otherwise, nothing beats the comfort of a merino glove, which is why I insisted so much. But that's it, I'm going back to polyester, just to stop seeing gloves with holes.

Too weak

Second pair which only lasts a month. The previous one had holes in the fingertips, this one has the seams popping. Damage ...

not good for cold

Well the name was bold and Merino. But Heat retention was super bad.

Lightweight, practical under gloves

Useful when hiking when it's cool. Resistant.

I recommend

When buying, it is important to consider the purpose...

As separate gloves, they are nice, light and comfortable. But after less than 2 months of use for about 1 hour a day, they are worn in many places, even though they were used all the time under gloves as intended.

low quality

Tears after a few uses

Merino gloves

Very surprised at the difference with these gloves in my mittens. I was cold from the humidity and these gloves made a big difference.

What does the dexterity of a glove refer to?

A glove's dexterity corresponds to its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves have been given a score from 1 to 5 in a laboratory study. The closer the score is to 5, the more the glove can handle objects in the same way as bare hands. In particular, tests were done to measure how easily it is to get a jacket on and open it with these liner gloves.

Warmth

When worn under hiking gloves, these liner gloves will give you 3°C of additional warmth. This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable. For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

How is usage temperature measured?

All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions.

How to properly protect your hands from the cold

By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. Consequently, by wearing liner gloves in addition to gloves, several air gaps are created around your hands, which provide effective insulation from the cold. To achieve this, the gloves must be big enough not to compress your fingers. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.

Origin of the wool

We use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing. We built a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment. This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool. How to maintain your merino wool liner gloves

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool liner gloves at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry them on a flat surface, away from moisture and all sources of heat. This could damage the fibre and make them lose their shape. Never put them in the tumble dryer. For more information:https://www.forclaz.co.uk/

Warning!

These gloves do not protect against the spread of viruses or microbes.

Product testing

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field because we believe that the only way to continually improve is to test the products under the real-life conditions that you will experience.
