Product Customer Reviews
Used this for 3 nights camping and was perfect for 2, easy to use and clean and good to fit in the car and go away with
they are expensive and the plastic cutlery discolors as soon as it hits the bean juices / tomato based sauces. nice and compact, metal cutlery would be better i think
This is an excellent set for cooking and eating. Easy to use, clean and store away. It's not the lightest but it's very affordable and I have no issues using it over the course of the summer.
Very good
Works amazingly well, the cups and bowls handle boiling water, pans are well balanced and not flimsy. It all packs together so well, my only worry with it is misplacing a fork and not having my full set! Would recommend to anyone
This steel pan set was bought to enable us to use our portable induction hob when we’re at a campsite with electric hook up. Avoids us having to use our bottled gas.
Bought this a while ago as it looked handy for camping trips. Used it for the first time this weekend camping and the edge of the lid melted and it deformed while cooking pasta over a small gas hob. Needless to say I'm not at all impressed as I now cant store the cutlery or secure the frying pan properly. So, now that the lids ruined, the whole thing is kind of a useless mess, and it looks like Decathalon dont sell the lid by itself. Great.
This is a lifesaver. With the amount of kit to make camping easier and more comfortable these days, kit like this is perfect!! It has so much and packs small. This saves space packing the separates. I purchase this along side the 3.5L cook set and caters for my whole families cooking needs. BUY IT!
This cool set is very compact, easy to pack away and great for cooking for two people
My main reason for choosing this cooking set was the heat-spreader base to the two pans. They worked well and food cooked well instead of catching, sticking and burning as other lighter weight cooking pans do. They are slightly heavier, as a result, but on a small boat (a Wayfarer dinghy), that is no really not an issue and is far outweighed by the benefit. The dual-purpose silicone rubber heat stand and locking cover is excellent. It is quite "grippy" so a pan placed on it will stay put even if the surface is a bit unsteady. I didn't use the mugs - others have said that they are tricky to drink form and we had others that were more suitable. The cutlery is adequate. It is plastic so it protects the non-stick surface if used for cooking. The non-stick surface seems very effective, although I don't know how well it wears yet (no signs of any problems after a week's use). The plastic pan cover is useful and allows easy draining of pasta, for example. The main pan handles are plastic. I took care to keep these away from direct flames (following comments from other reviewers) and had no problems. It is very useful that they fold in over the plastic cover. This gives the option to cover rice/pasta/potatoes once boiled and then put a fleece over the unit for storage to cook whilst using the other pan to prepare the rest of the meal. The frying pan handles have a neat sliding lock to make them secure when cooking. I forgot this and thought the design was flawed - then realised my mistake. It works very well, but you do have to remember to engage it! Overall, it is an excellent product with some elegant and thoughtful design aspects. The heat spreader pan bases worked very well and it felt much more like cooking with "proper" pots and pans.
Very comfortable!!
Corresponds to the description, practical to use, I recommend.
.
very practical and very pretty.
The lightweight, non-stick pans, also suitable for induction hobs, heat up quickly. Thanks to the high quality of the non-stick coating, cleaning is very easy. When camping, you save time on washing. I thought I would use them when camping, but now I also use them at home, really convenient.
Additional Product Information
Composition
Cooking pot: 72.0% Stainless Steel, 27.0% Aluminium, 1.0% Polytetrafluoroethylene ; Complementary parts: 100.0% Silicone
Cook what you want, where you want! we present the contents of the mh500 cookset for 2 people:
1 measuring saucepan with 1 folding handle. (1.6 L usable, 400 g, Ø 20 cm x 9.5 cm)1 frying pan with 1 foldable and lockable handle (0.5 L usable, 315 g, Ø 19.5 cm x 4 cm)2 soup plates (0.5 L, 71 g each)2 mugs (0.25 L, 36 g each)2 sets of 3 cutlery (fork, spoon, knife) clip-on (21 g set)1 lid / strainer suitable for the saucepan or frying pan (82 g)1 silicone closure system serving as a trivet (65 g)1 transport bag (21 g)
The choice of materials for our cooksets: a crucial choice:
We chose 18/8 (304) stainless steel because it combines food safety and long-term resistance: It does not oxidise and prevents corrosion. As stainless steel is a little less conductive than aluminium, we have added a double aluminium layer on the base of our saucepans and frying pans in the MH500 range. This diffuses the heat and increases heating efficiency, reducing the amount of gas needed to cook.
How did we choose the coating for our cook sets?
We have chosen a PTFE Xylan + coating by the brand Whitford for its non-stick/durability/price balance and because it is adapted to thin layers of metal (which isn't the case for ceramics). This coating does not contain PFOA-based glue and is suitable for cooking foods. And as with all coatings, we recommend that you avoid using metal cutlery or utensils, to avoid damaging the coating.
And now, we’ll tell you about the plastics in our cooking set!
Polyamide (cutlery and handle), polypropylene (plates, mugs), Tritan (lid) and silicon (table mat) were chosen because they are lightweight and heat-resistant (even up to 100°C), knocks and distortion. All our plastics in contact with food are Bisphenol-A free (BPA) in compliance with current French regulations. However, do not place the plastic in direct contact with a flame, or it may melt.
Our advice to get the best out of your cooking set:
Our cook sets are compatible with all types of fires (wood, gas, induction, etc.). The frying pan has a retractable handle that locks (unlocks) by pushing (pulling) the metal piece positioned in its centre. The saucepan has a patented 2-part folding handle that locks the lid during transport. The lid fits the saucepan and frying pan and also serves as a strainer. The plates have a structured design on the bottom limiting heat transfer.
How to store your cooking set?
To optimise total size and reduce noise during transport, we suggest you store the parts away in the following order:Cutlery fixed on the lid, mugs and plates in the saucepan. The trivet locks the set and the cover enables you to carry everything, even if dirty. If you’re in a hurry, or you aren't great at tidying away, you can also place all the parts in the saucepan (it’s just noisier and less optimised!).
How to clean and maintain your cook set?
Before the first use, rinse all the items 3 times with clean water. After use, wash the items with soapy (preferably hot) water and dry them before storing them in a dry place. All items are dishwasher safe, however it is advisable to wash your saucepans and frying pans by hand (to preserve the coating). Also avoid abrasive sponges or sand when cleaning the inside of utensils.
Is there anything you should avoid doing with your cooking set?
To avoid damaging them, never heat your saucepan or frying pan when empty. When using with a wood fire, make sure that the flames do not directly touch the plastic parts.Do not use metal utensils with non-stick coatings. If you carry things in your cooking set that may damage the coating, place them in a bag or piece of cloth. Finally, always lock the frying pan handle when you use it.
Materials and regulations
All of our products and materials meet current food contact standards and do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) in compliance with current French regulations.

Our products are subjected to a series of laboratory and field tests to validate the following points: Non-stick, mechanical, thermal, abrasion resistance.
