Great down jacket

Super down jacket, warm, thin and light.

Down jacket

Very comfortable to wear. Great comfort.

Super

This down jacket is fantastic, despite being very light and "fragile" in appearance, it is very well made, keeps you very warm, and from now on, never again without it on my excursions. Very competitive price, great fit, recommended!

puffy jacket

Alright

Down jacket

after the first wash, the down got into a ball in the lining, making it unusable. I'm thinking of taking it back to the store. I machine washed it at 30 degrees on a delicate program, it's a shame because it was comfortable to wear

Beautiful and comfortable

Essential and very comfortable

Perfect for all…

Perfect for every day, after the first wash the product absorbs water faster, but still remains a great product.

Convenient

I have not tested...

I have not tested the water repellency of the product since it is not a waterproof product. I am very satisfied with the product tested in the Alps

According to my…

Meets my top expectations for paragliding

Perfect

Light weight, warm and durable. This is my 2nd one. I got it for keeping in my bivvy sleep system.

It is exactly what is needed in winter

Very happy with the purchase. For a not very low temperature (as it says in the description) It is very light and warm, it is not bulky and you can keep it in its own pocket. I measure 1.88, I weigh 90 kilos and the size L fits like a glove. A first layer, a t-shirt and this jacket and you're more than ready! I only have one question. Here in Santiago de Chile, can I find the product I need to maintain the water-repellent effect after washing it? Can you get the detergent too? My idea is to take care of it as much as possible so that it lasts me a long time. All the best!

Very good quality and price

Additional Product Information

Composition

Filling: 90.0% Grey Duck Down, 10.0% Grey Duck Feather ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Padding - Inner fabric: 100.0% Polyester

How warm is this padded jacket?

This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3.1 mi/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). Down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

What is rds certification?

RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.

How to care for a down jacket?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Summary: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 86°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

A snag? how to repair your fleece

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch so the tear doesn’t get any bigger and the feathers escape. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given in order to easily identify the products with the best environmental performance compared to products of the same type (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
