balled up and thrown in the suitcase for safety. Optimal! It doesn't take up space, it's useful if necessary for the first sudden cold spells in the mountains
Oh my goodness guys, this jacket is of superb quality and super lux!! I feel like an absolute star, rocking it in this stunning piece of art. Absolutely beautiful.
Essential accessory Perfect size Soft and pleasant I use it when skiing under a waterproof jacket, and in all seasons whenever it's a little cool, alone or under a coat or jacket A storage bag would have been nice but I don't had one from an old jacket. Once compacted it takes up very little space.
Sleeves just a little long, otherwise excellent
The duvet is very practical and light. Purchased due to adverse weather in the mountains, it was very useful. Fits well at the waist. I would buy it again, even though I'm not a lover of duvets.
nice design, good comfort and correct price

Comfortable and elegant
I had a great time! I recommend it, the color is beautiful! I love it .. The only flaw if you want to nitpick, the missing hood .. But still I had a great time!
after washing it got damaged
Very pleasant, light, but not very waterproof.
Down jacket worn in the evening during a trek in Vanoise at an average altitude of 2500m. Very pleasant. Very light and compact in the backpack. No rain so water repellency not tested.
none
For now that we are in summer, it was enough for me to just wear it to try on, to see how gorgeous it is in the color (military green) and in the shaped line, very hard to find! Warm but very light, foldable to the maximum, without altering the fabric, therefore to be carried everywhere, even in a bag or backpack. Extremely versatile garment, suitable for half-times, but absolutely also in the mountains in cool moments and why not, at the sea if you are not lucky with the weather. Practically to keep without a doubt in the closet ready to use, even on vacation. Highly recommended!!

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.
What is rds certification?
RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.
How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
How to repair your fleece?
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
Product testing
All our down jackets are laboratory tested in 3 mph winds and worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, so that you can make the choice that best suits your use.
Storage instructions
