Very good product for daily use.
I bought the “iced coffee” colored down jacket (i.e. white in the photo). In reality the down jacket is neither white nor iced coffee. It is simply "undyed" but we only discover this after delivery for an online purchase... Decathlon has launched a range of undyed products because of their reduced impact on the environment. It's a noble cause but I would have preferred this to be made clear from the outset on the site. Why did you indicate "iced coffee" as the color when it is undyed fabric? The root of the problem is not the absence of color, the problem is that through the fabric you can see in certain places the colors worn underneath and that can be disturbing. I cannot evaluate the technical criteria because I have not yet tested it under conditions. I decided to keep it despite everything, for its softness and lightness, and I tell myself that I did something for the planet! But I regret that the description is not accurate. A yes for the planet, a no for the lack of transparency on the product (which is a little transparent in places :))
I am very cold and in cold and wind I find it a little tight. I took it all winter and the color was very nice, so I wrote it off
It is perfect in terms of lightness and heat balance, but its water retention and waterproofness are not sufficient.

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of -10°C during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its comfort temperature is 0°C in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°C, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
How to repair your fleece?
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
Product testing
In November 2021, 4 independent female Forclaz backpackers and 2 members of Forclaz are tested this down jacket for 3 days of backpacking up to 9842 ft. altitude near Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc Country. The feedback given to us after this test: let us validate this down jacket for backpacking in the mountains.
