Very warm and pleasant within reach

Very light jacket that is very warm at the same time.

I was pleasantly surprised. A jacket that weighs nothing, super light, that is very warm and the best thing is how little it takes up in your backpack if you want to carry it folded.

Excellent down jacket

Warm and light down jacket, practical and versatile. Can be used for hikes in cold weather but also simply on a daily basis.

Beautiful and warm

Very well made and warm. I am very pleased . My best one, but I have much more expensive ones that are not as functional.

Color consistent with the photo. Very good size, it is fitted for a feminine look. Worn in light rain, it is very water-repellent. It's really warm but I haven't tested it yet in the Nordic countries.

Very good!!!

I just got -10°C in Puente del Inca, Mendoza/AR, with snow almost a meter high and I didn't feel ANY cold, underneath I was wearing a cotton t-shirt and sweatshirt (no thermal or fleece blouse). I'm going to buy another color like this and the -5°C yellow one too. Wonderful!!!

Very useful

It weighs little, it warms well. It's not cheap, but it's quality. I would buy it again.

The jacket works well, I use it in a wider range of temperatures, in the mountains while moving. It is comfortable and I appreciate the soft and warm collar.

Perfect jacket. It folds easily into the included case and doesn't take up much space in your backpack. Warmth excellent.

I am forever struggling with short sleeves on jackets and sweatshirts. Unfortunately, it is not an exception here. But I decided to buy the jacket while trying it on in the store, so I knew what I was getting into. But if Decathlon managed to make longer sleeves, I would definitely shop there more. Otherwise, it was my only down jacket that I took to Peru to the Amazonian Andes and it did not disappoint. It fit in a backpack, it's nice, warm and definitely makes a beautiful figure. The cut was really good. Only for my 180 cm, it could be a few cm longer. But that's probably the lot of us tall people. :)

How warm is this padded jacket?

This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of -10°C during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its comfort temperature is 0°C in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

How to care for a down jacket?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°C, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

How to repair your fleece?

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.

Product testing

In November 2021, 4 independent female Forclaz backpackers and 2 members of Forclaz are tested this down jacket for 3 days of backpacking up to 9842 ft. altitude near Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc Country. The feedback given to us after this test: let us validate this down jacket for backpacking in the mountains.
