Questions & Answers

Look for product information, frequently asked questions, opinions...

I want to swap the front chainring on my Tirban GRVL120. What is the direct mount standard used there? I need to order online, but can't find any info on which chainring I need to get.

Its a single chainring Microship 38tooth ring H100 10 speed system currently. All Microshift cranks use a 24mm spline, so you can replace the crank set with another system with 24mm or change the bottom bracket and use any crank you like.

Faulty brakes

Bike purchased in February 2021, with a brake service in August 2023. During a descent, the front and rear brakes suddenly failed, no response and therefore no way to brake. No warning signs, the brakes were working normally just before. I no longer feel safe on this bike.

Ideal bike for commuting

Price quality very good Don't expect a speed machine, but an ideal bike for light gravel paths and commuting with a lot of extra weight. Have tires mounted tubeless immediately. Had to 'pop' it a second time at home to fix the deflator, but since then it's been fine.

Very good bike

Very comfortable bike, size M for me I'm 176. Adapted to my "leisure" use, 80% country road/greenway, 20% white paths. Very well prepared in store, even if it lacked a little grease, particularly on the pedals. The Microshift transmission works quite well, I find the mechanical brakes quite responsive, even if it requires a little anticipation on the decents. The tires are perfectly suited to my use, but will become limiting for someone who is going to venture onto more challenging terrain. And the possibility of mounting them tubeless, which is not negligible. In short, very good value for money.

Good all-round bike

The bike is pleasant to use, whether for short outings or when equipped with panniers for rides lasting several days. The gears allow comfortable use regardless of the elevation. Comfortable saddle. A little disappointed with the braking, which I hoped would be more efficient.

Very attractive at this price but far from perfect

I have been using this bike for about a year and a half. This is my first Gravel and I was initially very satisfied. I had absolutely no problems during the first 6 months of use, but since then I have had a series of problems and I better understand its attractive price... The main problem is with the transmission, the chain jumps very frequently when switching to the smallest gears. I derail around 2-3 times per outing, even on short journeys, to the point that the plastic casing at the level of the chainring has broken (I can't find this spare part on the Decathlon website to be able to replace it). I took my bike to a Decathlon workshop where I was told that this was a recurring problem on this model. Despite their settings, I continue to derail each time I go out... Other problems encountered: generally average quality on the peripherals. The brakes go out of adjustment quickly and are really not great, the tires are okay but nothing more, the handlebar tape crumbles very quickly... In short, as things currently stand, I cannot recommend this derailing bike and for which Decathlon has no solution to offer.

Bought this bike as an entry level bike for the gravel world. Excellent quality/price ratio. Suitable for dirt roads.

Perfect for beginner

An ideal bike for beginners in Gravel or just road cycling. A good basic that does the job, especially for its price.

Very nice entry level gravel bike.

Rode 250km on this already, including 2 65-km trips in dry conditions. Ordered online, it arrived disassembled, and required assembly (relatively easy) and disk brake fine tuning. Used SPD pedals on it, not the stock ones. The bike is light and fast, really good for traveling over roads/gravel roads, but not over cobblestone roads - the suspension is too hard if tires are at recommended pressure level. Overall impression is very good - so much fun to drive long distances on it, especially if you install 2 water bottle holders in the frame.

After-sales service more than bad

Having a problem with the freewheel body, I would like to claim after-sales service for this part which was found to be defective on a number of gravels of the same reference. A month's delay for an appointment, I find this unacceptable. There must be a match between the number of bikes sold and the size of the after-sales service. When I buy a bike from a real bike dealer, he apologizes for the failure and above all works hard to repair it..........

I would recommend this bike to anyone like me who has just started, excellent value for money, excellent product.
