Is it possible to attach mudfangs to this model of the bike?

Yes - A company called SKS makes some narrow removable fenders that will work for this bike.

Is this compatible with a Shimano Sora 2x9 groupset? What about a Shimano 105 2x11? If they work, what would I have to replace on the bike?

Aside from the tradional 7 piece group set you would also need to replace the Bottom Bracket and Cranks, but you should be able to do it.

Frame size too large needed to get a smaller one, gear range in sufficient even for moderate hills, gear box location is difficult when it's not directly on the handles.

I've owned this bike since September last year. Since then, I've used it only for indoor training, as the lovely Canadian winter wouldn't let me ride outdoors. For that use, it was amazing. It 95% assembled right out of the box, all I had to do was put the pedals on, the handle bar, and it was good to go. The bike is easy to adjust, rides comfortably and the gears, although simple cassette, it shifts smooth as it should. About 2 weeks ago I started to take this baby outdoors and my initial impression was matched. It rides great on the pavement as well as on gravel roads. Its lightweight allows for a fantastic ride any day. I am happy with my purchase and will buy it again for my wife and daughters, once they become more serious about biking.

My first gravel bike, light weight aNx enjoyable to ride. Just wished the seats could be adjusted without tools.

Honest review! Solid Bike

So I am 29 years of age, and I havd ridden 400+ miles on this bicycle and I purchased the bike in October 2023. This bike is solid. I bought different gears and accessories for the bike off of amazon and sale parts on other sites. This bike is perfect for the active average person. 9.9/10 from price point to product. I dont normally write reviews but I had to after just having a definite experience with this bike. The brake wire was a lil weird fitting upon purchasing but ive done nothing but youtube maintenece and cleaning the bike every 150 miles or so. GREAT bike for the price., thank you decathlon for the steal. Get to riding!

After first few rides it seems like a solid bike for the price point.

First road bike after 20 years using MTBs. For the price, it absolutely blew me away. The value is out of this world. I bought it from Decathlon online and had it shipped. Arrived mostly assembled, I just had to attach the handlebars. The stem was either not put in aligned correctly or it got knocked out of true during shipping so I had to tweak that as well. However shipping was fast and the bike was in perfect condition when it arrived. No marks or scratches. As an entry level bike, if you haven’t ridden a road bike prior, this will please you… and it’s a smart move from Decathlon as once the cycling bug bites, you will be browsing for something a bit pricier soon enough.

Good bike

Shifts too long for hill (in Phuket), need to change back block for bigger size And tire exploded the first day, they changed it in the shop for better quality tire, the original one, basic from china, was so poor and no resistance

Good, pretty and cheap

After 5 months of use, I think this bike is ideal for those who want to start on the road. I use it daily to go to work and it is perfect for that use. I used to have a mountain bike, which honestly was of no use to me for riding in the city, and the change to the road was excellent. This bike has basic components, but that doesn't make them bad, in fact they are quite functional. The changes after some adjustments were quite pleasant to me, something that anyone could do after watching a good tutorial on YouTube. Although it is not ideal that the gear shifter is on the tube and not on the handle, out of reach, the truth is that I got used to using it on the first pedal stroke. On the other hand, since it is a low-end bike, leaving it securely tied with a lock anywhere gives priceless peace of mind. The truth is that I have nothing to criticize, perhaps the brakes don't leave me with the best feeling, it could be a matter of taste; In one of those with a good fit, they look the way I like them. I have the bike with a rear rack and one of those bags that go on the rack (not a saddlebag) and the truth is that for daily use when going to work you don't need more.

The Good the bad and the ugly

I like the bike it has great speed - excellent handling - i ride about 40 Kilometres a day 280 a week on average. I have used this bike a lot. Initially right away the bike began to have issues this could have been a faulty tune-up at the Markham location. The person in the bike area took it to the back and emerged 10 mins later, i felt that it was done in a rush. Immediately there was a light clicking sound coming from the cassette on my first ride. and it got worse and worse until eventually by the 5-7 ride that the lockring eventually became undone. I had to purchase a lockring tool to resecure it but by that point the cassette was COOKED. Just recently the BTWIN Pedals cracked in half as well - I switched the BTWN Pedals to SPD-Shimano Road Bike Pedals and I replaced the Cassette with a Shimano Hyperglide Cassette and it was NIGHT and DAY. No more clicking and great shifting. Road Bike Pedals paired with Road Bike Shoes are great for this bike.

Very good. Very comfortable. Just that when it was delivered, there was a small scratch on handle. Overall very reccomended.

Tyre tubing was in the wrong size leading to tyre puncture after 3 days of riding.

Very fragile parts

I bought this model in May 2022, in August I was already having problems when changing gears. I took it to the shop and they couldn't find the problem. So they gave me another one, same model. Tune-up done in May 2023, 1 month later I needed to change the brakes and 2 months later the rear tire. The price is not expensive, but be prepared to change parts every season, which increases the cost in the long term.

Pros and Cons

At $300, the Triban RC100 is a bargain. It has a decent aluminum frame, and endurance frame geometry that is quite comfortable. The bike is also fairly fast given its price point and weight (a little over 23 lbs). The components such as the gear set, pedals and caliper brakes are adequate. The 7 speed, 1X drive train might be limiting on very sharp inclines- but for flats and moderate/easy hills should be fine. The overall component quality is not high and component durability and longevity is an open question. If you are doing self assembly- be careful and pay particular attention to getting the quick release and handle bars tightened and in the right position. For my shipment, the quick release parts were scattered in the shipment box and I actually failed to add the needed nut/spacer on the quick release lever side (which I eventually figured out). The quick release also came without springs. The documentation that came with the bike is weak- but there are on-line videos from Tribal and others that help with assembly. A bike like this is a lot faster than a typical hybrid bike and comparable in speed (ignoring some gearing limitations) to an entry level road/endurance bike costing hundreds more. As a main bike, I recommend at least stepping up to the RC120. As a secondary bike, or a bike at the lowest price point possible that provides some speed and opportunity for endurance training- it has some appeal.
