This new year, have you made a resolution to spend more time in nature? Up your fitness game? Meditate?
As part of the redwoods state parks’ centennial celebration, California’s Save the Redwoods League has got you covered with its free second Saturdays program. The Save the Redwoods League is offering more than 16,800 free state park passes. Pick up a pass online and enjoy more than 40 participating parks!
You can use the pass to go hiking -- the perfect activity to relieve stress and challenge yourself while strengthening your imagination, letting you start the new year fresh. Or, you can attend a fun, educational activity put on by select parks.
Options include:
- Learning about beach rocks and minerals in February at Prairie Creek
- Bringing your dog to Big Basin in April for a friendly guided hike
- Exploring tidepools in July at Jedediah Smith.
For a full list of events, please visit Save the Redwoods League.
The next second Saturday takes place Feb. 10. The program runs through the rest of the year.
