Top stove

Used morning and evening on a 10-day trek in the mountains. Good stove, compact thanks to the foldable fins, functional piezo, very powerful, and the storage pouch is welcome. Allows you to boil water for about 2 minutes without a windscreen.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMPACT GAS STOVE WITH PIEZO - MT500

Really practical for eating during treks

Strong and efficient

Very compact, light and very durable stove. It heats up very quickly. Excellent value for money.

Fair price quality

It works perfectly, you can cook even in windy conditions and the function of turning on the gas without needing a lighter is incredible... But the price is unjustifiable in my opinion. I still recommend it.

Very light and compact. Works well even in light gusts of wind.

Stove

Great gas stove, small, compact, high power. I recommend it

icon-circle-checkmark verified purchase

Recommended for those who plan to cook during excursions, especially those lasting several days. I bought it and used it for tent camping and camping: very compact, light but at the same time large enough for larger pots (used with Decathlon mess kits it is excellent!). For a beginner I found it very simple to use and to install on the canister (Decathlon with screw attachment). Recommended!

Stove

Small folding stove, very practical for hiking, folds easily, resists wind very well (even strong), I recommend considering the price for those who want to travel light, I have already used other products, but either they were not stable with a slightly large bowl, or did not work properly when it was windy, with this one, I found the perfect compromise, weight, stability, size and wind resistance.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main part: 100.0% Stainless Steel ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyethylene ; Complementary parts: 100.0% Polypropylene

Safety

This stove meets standard EN521.It must be used only with butane/propane cartridges compliant with standard EN417.The Decathlon Forclaz cartridges (100g, 230g, 450g) comply with the EN417 standard and are compatible with the Decathlon - Forclaz MT100, MT500 and MT500 Déporté stoves.Read the instructions and precautions for use attached to the stove.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge:

To set up a gas cartridge, always do so in a ventilated place, preferably outdoors and never near a flame, heat source, spark, individuals or flammable materials.Check that your stove's gas inlet is properly closed and check the location and condition of the leakproof seal.Make sure that the cartridge is on a stable flat surface. Do not shake.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge (continued):

Hold the device and screw in the cartridge by hand by turning it clockwise until it stops, being careful not to damage the screw thread.Follow the same instructions to take off the cartridge. It can be dangerous to use cartridges other than Decathlon - Forclaz. It's normal to hear a small fizzing sound (escaping gas) for less than 2 seconds when connecting the cartridge to the stove.

Weight and dimensions

Stove weight: 85 g Bag weight: 15 gDimensions: Ø 14 x H 9.5 cmFolded dimensions: L 9.5 x H 9.5 cmWeights, volumes & dimensions may vary slightly due to production tolerances.

Ease of use

Pot stand on 3 legs, perfectly adapted to Forclaz Trek 500 stainless steel pans (Ø 13.5 cm).Installation: Place the stove on the cartridge to align the threads. Screw. Assemble the stove on a flat, unobstructed surface. Open the flow control valve, operate the piezo (several times if necessary). Your stove is lit.We recommend you light your stove with a pan in place above the burner.Make sure the assembly is stable.

Heating time

Our internal tests give us values that reflect the actual conditions of use. In fact, we tested our stoves with Trek 500 stainless steel pans, filled with a litre of water.Actual power result: boiling time for 1 L of water: 3 mins 04. Actual power: 2750 watts. Actual consumption: 200 g/hour. The results and performance of different stoves must be analysed in a comparable way (same conditions and parameters).

Heating time (continued)

The heating time of a stove is subject to a mandatory standardised process for EU certification but does not necessarily reflect the actual conditions of use.Standard EN521 parameters (heating rate):Propane gas at 3 bar pressure, without container. Results: 4.1 kW / 292.5 g/hour

Performance and consumption

Many parameters affect the capacity and performance of your stove: atmospheric pressure, wind, damp, etc. and can therefore change the boiling temperature, heating time as well as the number of litres heated with one cartridge. We strongly recommend using a windshield to optimise gas consumption. The performance of a stove is therefore assessed according to the gas consumed / heating speed.

Storage instructions

Avoid contact with moisture. Do not leave in the rain. After use or cleaning, store your stove in a dry place taking care to unscrew the cartridge.
