HOLOWTECH housing key

Used to remove SHIMANO brake disc on Centerlock clamping, I confirm that the plastic sheath must be removed on at least the radius of the disc to be removed so that the key "grips" well on the Centerlock nut. Otherwise, a pleasant tool to use and seems solid.

BB52 Cups

Hello, it is suitable for Shimano BB52 cups. Thanks greetings.

Shimano--not BBR60

Did the job. Got my old 2010 Shimano bottom bracket off. Had to stand on the tool and loosen the bottom brocket. The took is robust, and gets the job done. Wish the BBR60 attachment was included; purchased a different BB to avoid purchasing the attachment for the smaller BB.

5 stars after small modification of the tool

I bought this key to unscrew centerlock brake discs, it's the same thing. The thick plastic coating sir the entire length of the key prevents it from pressing against the disc and therefore from unscrewing! You have to remove the plastic (screwdriver to slide under the coating + cutter + pliers and a little force) on a good half of the handle, then it's perfect. Decathlon, modify the model: save plastic and make the tool better.

Not for Shimano Centerlock brake rotors

Contrary to the advice given to me by one of the mechanics, this tool does not correspond to the diameter of Centerlock disc brake lockouts. There is more than a mm of play. So I didn't use it to avoid damaging the disc clamping system. I will request the refund.

Good key even for centerlock

It says that it is not compatible with centerlock disc nuts, but it is as easy as removing the plastic handle so that it does not bother

Good for hollowtech bottom bracket bad for brakes

Good tool to remove Shimano Hollowtech II bottom brackets. Good quality of materials. I don't give it 5 stars for compatibility because of the rubber handle it has (quite bulky to allow a good grip) center lock brake discs cannot be loosened, because it hits the disc itself and doesn't fit correctly. With flatter keys without said rubberized handle if possible, this has caused me to have to buy another tool.

In my case I have...

In my case, I used this wrench to remove a Shimano brake disc that has this hollowtech II imprint. I was able to do this operation on the condition of removing the overmoulding of this key, because it abuts against the disc and prevents the setting up of the key on the nut. Why add a plastic sheath? A tool must be functional, the design takes second place. Otherwise the tool is solid and does the job.
