About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT500 AIR only weighs 3.7 lbs and can contain a total volume of 50 liters which we recommend for a trip over 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extral 10 liters of volume.

The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %. The torso length is adjustable between 16 inches (40 cm) and 21 inches (53 cm), and the waistband adjusts from 31 inches (79 cm) to 54 inches (136 cm). It is a very useful bag for trekking and camping, with its many compartments and functionality. We need to experience adventures with the bag before we can say anything about its quality :) but it looks solid as far as I can see.
The product is comfortable to wear, even with a load of 20kg. It feels strong enough for long treks. The pockets and storage are well thought out. I used it to do the GR20 in complete autonomy (tent + food) and I am very satisfied with it. A big downside however: the straps for hanging a tent / sleeping bag under the bags loosen, which makes walking uncomfortable because the tent hits your legs. I met at least 3 other people with the same problem. Small tip: pass a lace through the straps of the tent, and through the straps of the bag higher up. This keeps everything together.
Perfect, I can easily store my things in it, it is comfortable to carry. The bag, once loaded, weighs at least 15 kg.

Hello. The backpack looks great. Functionality? My daughter praises it after the first camp. Very comfortable and mega functional. Especially the way of accessing the main compartment as well as the possibility of attaching additional external elements. Sufficient capacity. Interesting solutions. I definitely recommend it.
Quality bag. There are many compartments, the pockets at the pelvis are large and practical for keeping the most useful things close at hand. Durable, it held up wonderfully well on the GR20. Comfortable, once properly adjusted, you need miles before feeling any discomfort or pain. The back ventilation system does its job well. The only downside: the water bottle pocket is a little too far back, it is not always easy to store the water bottle correctly.
I have been looking for a suitable backpack for a long time. This one meets all the requirements. First of all, the back - comfortable to wear and does not stick to it. A wealth of compartments and especially an additional one at the bottom for all handy things so that you do not dig around inside like a wild boar. And the main compartment itself is great that you can lay the backpack flat and open it like a bag and thanks to the straps I know that when I stuff it to the max, the zippers will not fall apart. I highly recommend it for long hikes.
Top! Light, comfortable, lots of storage... the rain cover is very large and can cover a tent or mattress attached to the outside of the bag. Nothing to complain about, I hope the bag will be strong and durable over time!

Air design
As with the MT900 UL line, the MT500 AIR range has a ventilated back structure with mesh fabric (net fabric) that helps the back to breathe and dries quickly. Rigidity is guaranteed by a reinforced frame. The back is adjustable with a release strap that’s easy and quick to use.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
