Product Customer Reviews

Very warm and very light. Packs down to nothing to put in my golf bag. It's much better than expected. You'll definitely need to go up a size.
Great price/Great product
Shell and down are great quality. The zipper works after you get it started. I have had a difficult time getting the zipper started.
Warm and light

Are you kidding me? Stupidly light weight, warmth of down, wind resistant...all for 60 bucks? Mic drop. P.S. My new best friend for dog walking and cross-country skiing on those cold winter days in Ottawa/Gatineau :)

My second one of these jackets so thats a comment on my liking for them. Their weakness like many jackets of this material is the ease at which they rip. Light weight, packs small if required and warm great for everyday use
Good warmth and lightweight. Good fit. I didn't realise that the gilet packs away into it's own pocket which was an added bonus. I always unpack it and put the gilet on a coat hanger if I'm not going to use it for a day or two to try and minimise the down clumping up in places or the gilet becoming overly creased.
I have been on the lookout for a reasonably priced down gilet and eventually decided on this forclaz gilet. In the short time i wore it, i could feel the warmth from wearing it but i have had to return as it is just too slim fitting. I ordered a medium, my usual size. I have a 38 inch chest and 32 inch waist but found it just an inch or so too tight and any kind of movement caused it to bunch up around my upper chest. Not a good look. I'm currently deciding wether to size up or look elsewhere as i also found the two pockets a little on the small side and the zip just didnt feel right. I did like the price point, style and of course warmth so i would advise anyone buying this gilet to purchase a size up unless you are exceptionally slim.
So light and comfortable that hardly know it is on. The down filling adds that extra layer to keep warm. I’m normally a medium but this gilet is a very close fit so I went for large and it’s fine. Cannot comment on water repellency as I wear it under a jacket.
This is the best gillet I've had, really nice to wear, very light but warm I'm usually a size xl but ordered xxl and fits perfect you will not find a better one for the price or double the price it's a no brainer
This is the cheapest gillet I have - yet it’s warm, is light and packs down really small into my rucksack. It’s not got great water reliance but it withstands a light shower. Great value for money.
Very good all round can be used for work, casual dress or mountains.
Really light weight item. Very warm over a fleece mid layer. Useful zipped pockets take a big wallet and XL sized phone with ease. Folds down to a tiny pack size when the weather warms up.
Bought size medium and size large for my husband, he was a little disappointed that the large was the better fit; but to be fair he is probably somewhere between the two sizes. This is similar quality to another lightweight gilet I looked at which was double the price. It’s been worn almost every day since Christmas so a great success. I was able to return the other size by post even though I bought in store, very quick and easy process once I’d emailed customer services.

Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our responsible material commitments. Fill power of the down/feather filling
This 85% down / 15% feather down gilet has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" a certain volume of air. Down with higher fill power (a higher CUIN number) takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.

XS: 2.6 oz S: 2.8 oz M: 3 oz L: 3.2 oz XL: 3.5 oz 2XL: 3.7 oz 3XL: 4 oz
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling*
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth, feather is lighter than synthetic padding. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible
Care advice for a gilet filled with down and feathers.
The gilet can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow the instructions by clicking the link below:
http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket
The advantages of a gilet
A gilet keeps the body warm: it protects the chest, neck and lower back from the cold, as these areas are especially sensitive to the cold. Because it is sleeveless, it saves weight in the backpack and is even more breathable when making a physical effort and is extremely comfortable in movement when worn under a jacket. Worn underneath the TREK 500 jacket, it can provide 11°F extra warmth when compared to a down jacket worn without gilet.
In the event of rain
This gilet's fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric, which delays penetration of water into the gilet while you get out of the rain. But the gilet is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the gilet in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact

Product testing
All our gilets are laboratory tested with 3 mph wind, worn as a 2nd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long-sleeved T-shirt). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.WORN underneath the TREK 500 jacket, it can provide 11°F extra warmth when compared to a down jacket worn without gilet.
