Product Customer Reviews
Great bag for rather short hikes. Functional and ergonomic
Nice and practical bag The only point is the lack of depth at the bottom Lots of storage for small items
Very comfortable, I recommend it, there may be some additional pockets missing, but it's ok.
Nice bag, very comfortable in every way! Only one thing is annoying, the opening at the front (not at the top) which I find not very usable when you load the bag and want to access something inside. Otherwise, nothing to complain about at the moment
We are bothered by the back reinforcement which limits the filling of the bag. It is impossible to put water bottles in the side pockets. the bag is already heavy when empty. I miss my old 20 liter bag which was much lighter and which held just as much.
Buy for hiking, good capacity for a day!
Comfortable bag, lots of very practical pockets, possibility thanks to the closures to reduce or enlarge the capacity, exterior pocket for the water bottle, great rain cover, etc... I forget some! The little extra, there are two sizes S and L depending on your size, therefore adjustable to the person, impeccable, the ventilation system is very practical. Perfect, meets my expectations. THANKS
Corresponds to my expectations and also conforms to the seller's explanations.
Capacity and comfort
GOOD
Very good for 1 day of hiking or 2
very good compromise on capacity and comfort Ideal for hiking and very practical
Because of its high rigidity, the backpack feels like an annoying foreign object even when it is full. The storage compartment is difficult to load sensibly, the layout makes little sense. The compression bags that were intended do not fit in. I would not buy it again, I regret the purchase.
I walked with a backpack for a total of over 200 km. I think it is a great example for amateurs who inspire them to go longer and longer hikes. This is a starter backpack. In several points: + Great access to the inside of the backpack + Good arrangement of pockets and straps + Possibility to put in a water bladder +/- It's nice that there is a rain cover, but it cannot be unfastened. If you want to clean it, you have to go under the tap with your backpack. Very uncomfortable. - After a long hike, the shoulder straps become loose - Small adjustment range for the upper chest fastening - Ventilation is okay - It's a pity that you can't remove the back reinforcement and wash the backpack in the washing machine.
Apparently it seems like a good product, I used it for a 3-day excursion and I realized that it is not very roomy, too narrow, it does not allow any slight expansion and therefore no increase in content if needed. The thing that I think is very useful is the possibility of accessing the contents of the backpack from the side, via a zip on the side. Instead I found the shoulder straps very uncomfortable, perhaps I wasn't able to adjust them well, but as they are made of a material that is not very soft on the shoulders, they marked my shoulders and caused pain the days I used them and a few day after. We could do better!

We take care over abrasion resistance to make your bag durable. The heavy clothing R&D department, a Quechua partner for the research and validation of its components and assemblies, performs tests (on components, seams and the finished product) simulating the ageing of backpacks. Their results allow us to guarantee the bags tested for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt.

What differences are there with the old mh500 bag?
The back of this new bag has been fully reworked for greater comfort: a tight net with frame gives you more space between your back and the bag to reduce the damp back effect. This net used for the back, called mesh, is also softer than previously. What's more, this new model comes in 2 sizes for small and large sizes. The 2 hip pockets are more spacious and stretchy and access to flask on the sides is easier.
Why 2 sizes?
During several field test sessions with hikers of different sizes, we noticed that between 20 and 40 litres, the difference in comfort was mainly linked to the back height of the bag: someone with a small frame feels better with a bag that doesn't have a very big back, and someone with a big frame with a larger back. We therefore offer all our models in 2 sizes to meet these requirements.
Hydration
This bag can hold 1 litre, 2 litre or 3 litre pockets. However, although the pocket is voluminous, it will take up place that could be used for storing other belongings. The side pockets are designed for flasks of maximum 1 litre.
Why are our rain covers orange?
This is a deliberate choice as we believe it's important to stay visible in the mountains, even in fog, in case of any problem. This orange colour has the advantage of being visible from a helicopter. It's also a visible colour on the road if you use your bag when cycling.
Hand luggage
When you are travelling by plane, the authorised hand luggage size is 55x35x25cm3 maximum (warning, this can vary depending on the airline). This bag can be used as hand luggage, so long as you don't load the top too much.
How to pack my backpack?
AT THE BOTTOM of the bag, pack your sleeping material, and heavy material nearer the back. Slide your water pocket into the compartment.AT THE TOP of the bag, store your waterproof jacket and fleece within arm’s reach. In the pockets, you can put your sun cream, maps, cap and sunglasses. Cereal bars or your mobile phone can be stored in the belt pockets for quick access. The straps under the bag can also be used to attach a compact tent.
How do i adjust my backpack?
1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - As this bag is small in volume, put the belt around the waist and tighten it. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
