No problem getting through the controls and boarding the plane
Used this summer for day hikes. The bottom compartment is very practical if you want to separate your picnic from your belongings (avoid getting your belongings wet with the ice packs). On the other hand, it is not a bag suitable for long hikes, as it does not have a belt attachment, you end up with back pain. Today it has become my everyday bag for work. Its compartment, normally designed for a water pocket, is the perfect size for a laptop.

Used during a hiking weekend, I found it very practical. The pockets on the sides allow quick access (water bottle, snack, etc.), the insulated compartment is a plus. It easily fits under a raincoat.
Used for commuting to work. ADVANTAGES - Good back ventilation. Comfortable shoulder straps The internal compartment can accommodate a 16" laptop (tested on HP ProBook 450 G6) Cool thermal chamber... I personally use it as an additional rigid compartment for food... so I won't comment on the insulation quality NO DISADVANTAGES - but things that irritate The internal pocket, or rather a pouch, at the top by the zipper. After putting anything in, it effectively makes it difficult to access the laptop/tablet compartment. External zip pocket without additional pocket closures inside... too bad The side Velcro is very stiff, making it difficult to access the side pockets DISADVANTAGES The smartphone pocket on the shoulder straps is a joke. Gentlemen, these are no longer the times of Nokia 3510, phones are bigger now. Forget about keeping your smartphone there. In the pocket under the backpack, you've put a mini sleeping mat on which you can sit... cool... but what about a rain cover for the backpack??? Why isn't there one????

How do you fill your nh arpenaz 500 backpack?
Place heavy material in the bottom of your NH Arpenaz 500 hiking backpack. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece within arm’s reach. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder will be placed in the compartment provided along the back, and the water bottle in the outer flask holder pockets provided for this purpose.
