Questions & Answers

Question:

Can I swap these flat handle bars to drop bars? Using a third party brand?

Answer:

For sure you can, but that typically also envolves replacing the shift and brake levers.

Question:

Why didn't decathlon and rear hanger on this bike? If the origional price was indeed 900 dollars a rear hanger couldn't have impacted profit on a sale that drastically.

Answer:

Unfortunately this model was speced without a replacable rear dearaileur hanger. The Cost is driven by the aggregate of the components, in an effort to create the best value this is, unfortunately a production decision, but I have to agree...it would have been nice.

Question:

If I pick up in Oakland will the bike come assembled?

Answer:

Unfortunately not, but they do come about 95% assembled. So the assembly should take you about 15 minutes or less

Perfect

honestly, super bike for both asphalt and simple dirt (I changed the tyres)

A good choice

I switched to this bike after 20 years of pedaling a 26" MTB bike with road tires. After 750 km of pedaling through Bucharest, the impression is very good. It changes gears well. It's a bit strange the 4-position shifter at two sheets. Brakes are effective, a bit squealing. I oscillated between a straight handlebar and a horned one, the straight one suits me better. Very good grip in the wet, on the straight and in the curves. You feel all the bumps due to the tires at 6 atm. The bike came unadjusted. Very good weight. Goes well without mudguards and on wet asphalt.

Great set, balanced bike

Good dynamics and driving, the brakes are very good. The exchange rate is very responsive. The only thing that I don't like is the graphics being painted, I would like to be able to remove it and have a bike without orange effects

Good bike for a small budget

My opinion after about 8 months. I was looking for a bike for every day (vélotaf and other), fun, to pedal 70% of the time in town. I don't regret this choice: road bike and straight handlebars (in town more practical than a drop bar). Still, I regret not having been able to spend 200€ more for the superior model, the Microshift mechanical part does the job, but clearly lacks precision and it rattles compared to Shimano and it sings more (even after adjustment, the mine or that of the Decat mechanic). You shouldn't ask too much of him in terms of abrupt and rapid reactivity either. However, is this a disaster in daily use? No, it runs well and we have fun once we get used to the beast. The saddle is OK. The cockpit is comfortable, we appreciate the horns to change posture, less the ergonomic handles (not my thing). RAS on the brake part, except the rear brake which loosened a lot until the cable was on the verge of breaking completely (2 wires remained on the cable; free change carried out by the cycle workshop). Note that adjusting the positions of the brake handles and especially the derailleur levers in relation to your fingers is strongly recommended. This allowed me to largely resolve the problem of precision of the derailleur levers on this bike. Good size hanger for sneaking around. The 28 width of the tire is perfect for the city, a good compromise between good riding and comfort, but those supplied lack grip on descents or on wet surfaces (no surprise). I also like the weight for lifting it. In the end I will upgrade it (already starting with the pedals) and I don't regret my purchase, only not being able to spend €1000 on a bike all at once. Despite these current flaws I know that he will take me far. Anyway I gave it a name, I can't abandon it like that. NB: Decathlon support is not great, instead of videos I would prefer a good PDF (in French plz) with all the information on my purchased bike and how to make adjustments and other repairs. EX1: to adjust/remove the brake pad instead of your video which does not correspond to the model, I had to watch a video from an Italian mechanic (thanks to him). EX2: I came across other owners of the bike who, like me, at first did not understand that despite 2 chainrings, the front derailleur does have 3 positions. Yes sorry not sorry but despite my practice of mountain biking (3 chainrings: 3) I am not at all up to date on bike mechanics (now yes :'D). So since no one in the store informs us, good documentation can save us. EX3: see above derailleurs adjustment.

Excellent bike and convertible to Gravel.

Racing bike that with gravel tires and inner tubes (I mounted a 700x38) can also be used on dirt roads.

Serious accident risk

Hello, I'll give you my opinion on the article. Just 1 month ago I picked up the bike from Decathlon (my mistake was not having asked the seller to check the condition of the NEW bike). The following week I had a very serious accident (because of) cycling. I went to see the salesman today who told me “you have to pay to change the brake pads because they are “old””. 2 week old platelet, leading to a serious accident?? So I had a serious accident because my pads were old even though I only used my bike 20 minutes a day to go study in a hospital. And he adds “you must pay the costs for this repair” even though it has only been 1 month since I received the bike. “Otherwise I can take it back from you for €250 used”!! Seriously when I paid €550 for it just 1 month ago?? I am on the verge of filing a complaint for endangering the lives of others at Decathlon; especially how you are treated in the end. I, who previously worked for Decathlon, find this scandalous.

no problems after one year of purchase

light and good handling on the road

Excellent bike

Being used to straight handlebars I liked this bike. I have not had such a good bike until now and I can only enjoy spending with it.

When I'm in...

When I'm a dancer, my knees touch the hanger. And the hanger is not wide enough. Very annoying saddle squeaking, appointment made to correct the problem. Tires misaligned on the rim, impression that the rim is warped.

Mixed

From good to bad, the main problem is the choice of gear ratio. We are always between 2 the chain often crosses and it is difficult to find the right ratio. It's extremely unpleasant even if the bike is rather of course the rest it makes it practically unusable on big outings. We have to constantly juggle reports without ever finding the right one.

Not bad, but...

Good value for money. Fairly comfortable bike. Used for short weekend outings of 30-40km. The derailleur could be more precise for the front, but for the price it's ok. What I blame is that I have a very high-pitched noise in the gallows as soon as I'm uphill and I go into a dancer. The noise is really very loud and it makes me a little ashamed. I don't quite understand where this can come from, not being an expert. I hesitate to return it with the 365d guarantee and take a bike from another brand.

ALWAYS AT THE TOP

Since it wasn't there from the order carried out with the usual professionalism of the clerks to the preparation when it arrived I would say....TOP SERVICE AS ALWAYS

Good product

Good light bike just one downside the rear tire is deflated after three uses obviously a fault in the valve...

Very nice bike

Very nice bike, only downside, the staff was super friendly, but as soon as I arrived at the checkout I immediately noticed that there was a scratch on the frame, not having time to return it I ended up with a scratch a shame for a new bike
