Hey, SF Bay Area skaters! The sun is back, the Girl Scouts are selling cookies, and the streets are dry again. You know what time it is ... time to wipe off those skates and dust off those boards. It is certainly the time of year for new gear, new hangouts and new friends. Here’s the 411 on local events and meetups in the San Francisco Bay Area skate scene.
Skate Like a Girl SF is kicking off the new year with Girlz* Sessions, an instructional and open-skate meetup at Oakland Town Park on Adeline Street. The event is FREE and open to the public. All abilities and ages are welcome, no experience required. This is also a safe space for women, non-binary and trans-identified skaters to come meet, socialize, learn and grow.
Attention, quad skaters and inliners! David Miles, founder of the Church of 8 Wheels at 554 Fillmore, recently lost his friend of 37 years.
