Not sure of your 2020 goals? Here are some healthy ideas to help you join in the fun (or choose your own!):
1. #Take10 for mindfulness. Take 10 minutes/day for meditation.
Practicing mindfulness can restore focus, reduce stress and even improve your athletic and day-to-day performances. If this goal makes sense to you, set aside time each day to practice mindfulness, whether it’s breathing practice, awareness of your body and mind, or muscle and body relaxation.
How? Find a quiet and comfortable place. Roll out your yoga mat or sit on a chair. Relax your mind and body, setting aside both physical and mental distractions. Dedicate the time to a clear head, focusing on your breath, imagery or just stillness. This article, "How to Meditate" in the New York Times, includes useful tips and guided meditations.
2. Try on a new sport. Boxing? Crossfit? Badminton?
Sometimes a goal can be as simple as trying something new. Experiencing a new sport can be a fun way to achieve fitness goals. Activate new muscle groups and get your heart rate up, while creating opportunities for new friendships and a lot of laughs along the way.

3. Go the distance. Run/Ride/Walk 10+ miles a week.
One of the keys to success in achieving your goals is being specific. Do you want to run 10 miles a week? 100? 50? Writing down and sharing the goal with friends can be helpful as well - and staying consistent will help you get fit (and get faster).

4. Activate your daily commute. Ride/Walk to work 10+ days a month!
How much time to you spend commuting? Could your fitness goals be achieved while on your way to the office each day? Save the gas money and invest in yourself instead. Perhaps a New Year’s goal could be to commute at least 10 days a month by bike or foot? Join us in this healthy commuting.
Tips: Check out these cycling rain jackets for early season commuting. And these pannier racks and bags can make it handy to gear up while riding into work.
5. Start a fitness streak.
Consistency is important for any goal. Whatever your goal, set up some daily/weekly/monthly goals as well that can adapt to your schedule. Sometimes visually showing your streak on a calendar can help motivate you to keep going.
If you committed to 10 days in a row of working out, it’ll be easier to get out the door if you see you’ve already achieved 8 of the 10. Keep your fitness streak going throughout the year!
6. Make it yours and have fun!
Whatever your resolutions, the most important part is that you enjoy the process and have fun along the way.
From our family to yours, we wish you all the best in this New Decade, New You - and achieving your #Take10 Goals!
