Very surprised at the quality and how light the bike is for the amount paid. I really like this bike a lot. Any advice I'd give before buying it, is know what size of frame is best for you my inseam is 29ish 5, 6 talk and I'm on a small frame.

Bought Oct 2023. Good value for money. I can ride much faster and with ease vs my old foldie. Love the servicing availability at Decathlon.

Best investment I could have made, 100% recommended

A very comfortable bike, very smooth, an excellent purchase

Fantastic customer service, awesome bike.

Love my Triban RC500. Had a few issues upon arrival, but Decathlon fully covered a checkup at my local bike store. Kind & courteous staff (online correspondence). This bike's a beast. Feels super smooth & stable. I could not ask for a better experience with Decathlon.

Moyen

Je dois retourner justement pour voir quelque chose qui marche une fois sur deux, services mauvais, c’est comme si tu reçois ton vélo par Amazon.

Best Bang for the Buck "Do-It-All" Bike...formerly

I got this when it was still 28,000 Php. Perhaps mine was part of the last batch of the old pricing. For 28,000 Php, you're getting a lot: Good quality build? Check Carbon-Alu fork? Check Comfortable geometry? Check Reliable wheelset + tubeless-ready? Check Tires? Basic, not the fastest, but comfy, so check. Shimano Groupset? Check. Except for the cassette and chains, they are from Microshift but are quite reliable. Generous tire clearance? It can fit up to 36-38mm wide tires. Check. For its weaknesses: Braking System: Its disc brakes perform better than equivalent rim brakes. However, you'd find yourself wanting more braking power when riding in the rain, descends, and the combination thereof. It's not to say that cable-actuated discs are not reliable but this particular system has an inherent flaw: the rear brakes has the cable entry/exit hole pointing upwards, meaning water can seep in and rust your cable. Perhaps future models can have a rubber boot to cover this. Nevertheless, people who have been using this bike for quite some time have completely replaced the stock system with semi-hydraulics which are significantly better in all aspects. Wheelset: It is reliable and tubeless-ready but quite heavy. Gear Ratio: It has the Sora 50-34 x 11-32. The bike is classified as "Intermediate" but I believe intermediate bikes should have a lighter gear ratio (e.g., 46-32 x 36-11). There are a lot of hill climbs in my place and I'd wager beginner riders will find the stock gearing too heavy. Though, perhaps this is a problem of the bike industry as the entry-level groupsets are the trickledown versions of the top-of-the-line which are designed for racing. A quick solution for this would be to get a wider cassette. Compatible lighter cranksets are a difficult find here in the Philippines. Saddle: Well, this part is purely preferential. Headtube: Not sealed. Vulnerable to rain, water can seep in and rust the bearing. So is it a Do-It-All Bike? Yes, but with limitations. You can use it for amateur racing but the geometry is not designed for it. You can fit wider tires but for more technical gravel routes you'll definitely want tires wider than 36-38mm. You can ride it in the rain but you may have to regrease the bearings. The brakes are good for commuting in an urban setting. The braking power is as determined by how hard you can grip the levers, though. Very noisy when wet. I can definitely see myself riding this bike for many years to come, though by then I might have already replaced all parts except for the frame, forks, handlebars, and shifter. Despite this generally positive review, I find it hard to recommend the RC500 due to its current pricing. This bike is priced at 38,000 Php as of writing. That's a 10K increase - 10K of which you may have used to upgrade the weaknesses mentioned earlier.
