About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT900 SYMBIUM weighs 5.3 lbs and can contain a total volume of 50 liters which we can recommend for a trip over 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extra 10 liters of volume.
- This backpack has plenty of features if you are looking for a comfortable technical option and complete autonomy at a fair price: SYMBIUM comfort, rain cover, 2 water bottle holders, hiking poles holder, a tent holder, 10 pockets and a compartment for a water bladder for easy hydration.
- The SYMBIUM technology brings the best comfort when carrying your backback as the belt follows the body movements to avoid any loss of balance while hiking.
- This is a men's backpack: This bag has been conceived for a masculine morphology (torso and hips). We recommend to consider the users physical morphology when you choose a bag for comfort purposes when carrying it on your back.
- 10-year warranty: the fabric of the bag is ultra resistant and Decathlon is proud to offer this warranty for any defect that could appear in the next 10 years.

Product Customer Reviews
backpacks tested on numerous hikes. Well thought out, quick access via the 2 large zippers, as I do a lot of mountaineering, it lacks (for my use) an ice ax holder and something to attach snowshoes. Otherwise very comfortable and adaptable size. Maybe a little heavy. Satisfied with the purchase.
flush
The empty bag is a bit heavy but looks good
Design everything is fine but the company needs to introduce a 30l litre version everything need to same just volume n weight less...30l volume and weight as per 30 l volume
I don't have exactly this version, but the previous model. here is my Rex after trek Pyrenees and Mafate. top comfort, top access to business also with easy opening. the criticism: too heavy, I won't keep it. improvements: the top pocket would be detachable, it will be ultra practical (toiletry bag, etc.), for a minimal cost. nothing to attach the water pipe no pockets on the straps the phone does not fit in the side pockets. (quick access card reader) we find lots of plastic ties for the sticks on the paths (indicated flex above) it is therefore necessary to secure (sew) the knot of the elastic, or tie another knot in the hope of having helped the engineers to design a better product.
Usually I like Décath products, but here I am quite disappointed with my purchase. For starters, the hipbelt pockets are too small and too far back. The bottle holders, basically the idea is good but really not practical to use and you really need the properly adapted bottle otherwise it is impossible to put it back in place on your own. A separate compartment is missing at the bottom of the bag. The side pockets must be filled before the central compartment, otherwise it will be impossible to fill them. On the other hand, in terms of carrying, nothing to say, once adjusted, the bag is stable and well maintained, even loaded at 20 kg!!! The back is super well ventilated, really pleasant especially in hot weather or during heavy exercise.
We bought a backpack with a scout camp in mind. Spacious, comfortable, a great solution with an additional zipper at the front of the backpack, which allows for quicker access to things.
Great carrying system that is comfortable even when heavily loaded. The backpack is very roomy, although it doesn't look like it at first glance. I could fit all my winter camping equipment in it: with a synthetic Snugpack sleeping bag up to -7 (2100G), a sleeping pad, a mattress, a jacket, food, water, two 0% beers, a mini stove, a cartridge, two cups, a flashlight, a first aid kit, a change of underwear and more there was a small supply.
used to do Compostela from Rouen last year he is leaving with me this year for another route, nothing to say about 90 days of travel
Pros: Good compartmentation, looks like it's made to last, has a lot of adjustment options, rain cape included, nice look. Cons: Weight of the backpack (2.4kg is quite a lot), Ventilation/air circulation between the body and the backpack is not really there, The straps (although they are quite comfortable) have a sponge that once it gets wet (retains sweat) it will dry quite hard.
Comfortable with interesting features
Easy to fill with its large front opening. Very good carrying
Very practical backpack with good support. I also use it to put my 500mm lens in it given its height. Good comfort and storage capacity
Everything is true 👍😀
This bag is really good. Functionality, solidity (it was transported by camel, tied up with odds and ends), capacity (one-week trek in the desert). So why 3 stars? For the weight. He's heavy. It is really necessary to limit your belongings so as not to have unsuitable weight to carry for kilometers.

Bag construction
The assembly of the different parts of this bag has been proven to withstand high tension levels, especially when it is filled or handled. Each element has been designed to guarantee the reliability of the construction: thick front zip (10mm), reinforced seams at the base of the skirt and on the straps.
Capacity
Extendable volume: 50 L + 10 L extension thanks to the bag’s top flap with adjustable height. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.
Symbium technology
The Symbium concept reduces the swinging effects which tire the trekker. This concept is based on the optimisation of the structure of the belt, ensuring that the backpack is better balanced when walking.
How to pack a backpack?
Place your sleeping equipment at the bottom of your backpack. Position your water bag in the compartment provided for this purpose. In the back, place the heavy equipment (tent, stove, food) and position your clothes around it. Your tent or groundsheet can also be placed under the flap or under the bag. Keep your waterproof jacket and warm layer within arm’s reach. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets...)
Timeless styling
We have selected pigment colours and used clean lines for a timeless style that will be passed down from generation to generation.
Why are our rain covers grey?
The grey colour is neutral so uses less dye. We also use a “bi-ton” dyeing process where only one thread in every two is dyed. This dyed yarn is also made from a bulk dyeing process which incorporates the colour pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onwards.
Complementary accessories
Compatible with 7L half-moon storage bags.
Product testing
Several laboratory tests have been carried out to test the resistance of the MT900 Symbium backpack. We have therefore undertaken: a Martindale test which evaluates the abrasion resistance of this backpack, an initiated tear test (seams), a fatigue test on the compression of the foams, a test of resistance to rigidity and bending of the aluminium structure (located at the back of the bag).
Storage instructions
Store your bag in a dry and ventilated place, out of the sun.
