The hook of the…

The grip of the sole is not great on the pedals with the pimples in any case very close to my usual sneakers.

Good value for money

This is a very good shoe for cross country use. It has had its day after more than 2000km the sole started to come off and the laces broke, but good shoe.

Good price-quality ratio

I recommend it for summer bicycle trips. They are also suitable for SPD

Very disappointed, to avoid

I wanted an all-purpose shoe for mountain biking and sports. It is a disaster! They slide on my flat pedals when regular sneakers wouldn't. Dangerous limit in somewhat technical passages. The fabric on the front of the shoe is very breathable, with frozen feet at 12 degrees outside! but above all too permeable to water, feet soaked during the first outing in dry weather but with passages in wet and tall grass! In short, reserve for summer and dry weather and more. I thought I had found what I was looking for but since I'm going to have to buy another pair, it's €65 wasted. 2 outings with and 2 outings shortened due to shoes.

Fabulous for cycle tourism! They walk very well in them and represent an excellent compromise for the power response (fair stiffness of the sole) and for sections where you walk (trail inspired), very comfortable! And perfect for cycle touring use, especially on dual function pedals (hooks on one side, flat on the other)

comfort and flexibility

these shoes are really comfortable and flexible. I adore! Less useful when practicing cross country where they will lack rigidity.

Aesthetically beautiful, nothing to say...in my opinion, the positioning of the holes for bindings that are too far back needs to be reviewed (I only use them with bindings) with flat pedals, there are certainly no problems, but it almost gave me the sensation of pedaling more with the sole of the foot instead of the tip. Try it and get it right away

Nice shoe

Great value for money. Nice shoe but very narrow cut. Let's see how robust it is.

A hybrid sole? let us tell you more.

When the going gets tough, you may have to push or carry your mountain bike. For better grip and support for both walking and riding, we created a hybrid sole: It's compatible with flat and SPD pedals and draws inspiration from trail shoes for traction on the ground and mountain bike pedals. Not to mention comfort! With the internal and external layers with reinforced lugs, you'll have better support all year round!

Introducing the comfortable, durable st 500

In addition to giving you traction when walking and pedaling, the ST 500 will also let you ride worry-free: The durable shell limits impacts and abrasion. The elasticated sock liner all along the opening makes it easy to slip them on and prevents dust and pebbles from getting in.To prevent unintended snags, you can tuck the quick-lacing system into the tongue!

Which pedals are compatible?

Which cleats and/or pedals can you use with your shoes? If you use clipless pedals, we recommend using the following SPD pedals for optimal clipping in:- SHIMANO FLAT/SPD M324- SHIMANO SPD M520These shoes are not compatible with Enduro/Freeride-style platform pedals (e.g. SHIMANO SPD M424).And of course, your shoes are compatible with all B'Twin cleats and pedals!

The story of the st 500 mountain bike shoes

During more technically difficult rides, you may have to get off your bike. To develop a shoe that gives you traction and support both on and off your bike, our 4-person team worked on different technologies, prototypes, and lab and field tests for over 2 years with 50 different people. The result is a shoe that provides grip while walking and cycling on MTB trails, as well as comfort while on foot.

One last tip before you hit the road

Cleats explained by our design team:”When you start mountain biking at an intermediate level, the question of cleats usually comes up. We've created a versatile product that can advance with you. The cleat attaches to the hollow part of the sole without any adjustment: we decided to choose the most common position so that mountain bikers who are starting out with cleats do not use a position that is painful for their knees.”

Product testing

Our engineers always have real riders test all our products in real conditions. These tests round out our lab tests and let us validate all our products before they hit store shelves.
