Stove

Super compact and very practical

Good but

If you have a small Italian coffee maker, the 3 feet are barely too far apart. Too bad the minimum power isn't lower. She is very powerful. Enough to make the aluminum incandescent, no worries about that XD. The potentiometer is good with the "pin" it takes up no space and it's light.

Ideal for bivouac

Does not take up space in the bag, light and easy to adapt and store

Good middle ground

Basically good, the wider flame is also suitable for smaller pans or medium-sized pots, unlike the ultra-light cookers. You can push the arms together, so you don't have to transport a huge cube. But I don't understand why the thing only has 3 arms. It's not ultra-light and super compact, the weight of a fourth arm is not important. And since you push them together for transport anyway, a fourth would have easily fit in, the pack size doesn't suffer. But that would make the stability on the cooker much better, especially with larger pots. I think the price is too high for the current unnecessarily wobbly affair.

Good value for money

This stove has been with me for almost a year on my treks. It is very easy to use and quite light (even if there are others that are even less heavy). Compared to the price, it is of good quality and after almost a year of use, it is still functional and problem-free.

A light, simple and reliable cooker. When folded, it takes up little space and fits comfortably, for example, in a pot or kettle.

little but strong

surprising to see that such a small stove can heat quite large quantities of water (for 4 people freeze-dried meals)

Perfect

Light, robust (appearance, remains to be verified...), it will be perfect for my trekking practice

An excellent jetboiler

Barely the time to turn on the water is already hot Perfectly resists the wind (tested at altitude in winter) Plus the compactness once folded is remarkable

impeccable but it cuts by itself

ideal, does not take up space and very powerful. only downside (this is the second one I bought) The stove has a tendency to turn off on its own, you have to stay vigilant, this happens to me almost every time I use it. compact lightweight durable at the top

Feedback experience with the MT500 with piezo

Out for a two-day hike and we had calm weather with really nice temperatures, wind, rain and snow, and it worked in all the weather conditions announced above without any problem. We used it. being in the mountains.

Safety

This stove meets standard EN521.This stove is for exclusive use with the 3.5 oz, 8.1 oz, and 15.9 oz Decathlon - Forclaz butane/propane cartridges.Decathlon cartridges comply with standard EN417 and are compatible with the Decathlon - Forclaz Trek 500 Light and Trek 500 Remote stoves.Read the instructions and precautions for use attached to the stove.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge:

To set up a gas cartridge, always do so in a ventilated place, preferably outdoors and never near a flame, heat source, spark, individuals, or flammable materials.Check that your stove's gas inlet is properly closed and check the location and condition of the leak-proof seal.Make sure that the cartridge is on a stable flat surface. Do not shake.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge (continued):

Hold the device and screw in the cartridge by hand by turning it clockwise until it stops, being careful not to damage the screw thread.Follow the same instructions to take off the cartridge. It can be dangerous to use cartridges other than Decathlon - Forclaz. It's normal to hear a small fizzing sound (escaping gas) for less than 2 seconds when connecting the cartridge to the stove.

Weight and dimensions

Stove weight: 3 oz Bag weight: 0.5 ozDimensions: Ø 5.5” x H 3.7”Folded dimensions: L 3.7” x H 3.7”Weights, volumes, and dimensions may vary slightly due to production tolerances.

Ease of use

Pot stand on 3 legs, perfectly adapted to Forclaz Trek 500 stainless steel pans (Ø 5.3”).Installation: Place the stove on the cartridge to align the threads. Screw. Assemble the stove on a flat, unobstructed surface. Open the flow control valve and operate the piezo (several times if necessary). Your stove is lit.We recommend you light your stove with a pan in place above the burner.Make sure the assembly is stable.

Heating time

Our internal tests give us values that reflect the actual conditions of use. In fact, we tested our stoves with Trek 500 stainless steel pans, filled with a liter of water.Real power result: heating time to boil 1 liter of water: 3 mins 04. Real power: 2750 watts. Real consumption: 7.1 oz/hour. The results and performance of different stoves must be analyzed in a comparable way (same conditions and parameters).

Heating time (continued)

The heating time of a stove is subject to a mandatory standardized process for EU certification but does not necessarily reflect the actual conditions of use.Standard EN521 parameters (heating rate):Propane gas at 3 bar pressure, without container. Results: 4.1 kW / 10.3 oz/hour

Performance and consumption

Many parameters affect the capacity and performance of your stove: atmospheric pressure, wind, damp, etc. These can change the boiling temperature and the heating time as well as the number of liters heated with 1 cartridge. We strongly recommend using a windshield to optimize gas consumption. The performance of a stove is therefore assessed according to the gas consumed / heating speed.

Eco-design

Our teams care about the environment, so this product has been subject to an eco-design approach that consists of removing surface treatments that only have an aesthetic function. As such, we have removed the paints and anodizing on all the parts (feet and pan support, burner, gas flow control, etc.) of this stove, while still ensuring its performance, technical features, and durability.

Storage instructions

Avoid contact with moisture. Do not leave in the rain. After use or cleaning, store your stove in a dry place, taking care to unscrew the cartridge.
