Very practical and does not take up space!

Inflates very quickly, very practical product for makeshift camping, the thickness is remarkable given the little space it takes up uninflated

Poor quality

The layers of the mat separated from each other after the first night, creating a big air balloon on the head's side and making it very uncomfortable to sleep.

comfortable

perfect for a good sleep

I recommend it for good sleep

I spread the Decathlon beach cover under this mat while camping. I slept comfortably on the mat, in a 10-degree sleeping bag, at 10 degrees, without feeling cold or feeling any stiffness. It is a comfortable bed to use and carry for those like me who camp in the coldest 10 degrees. It is unnecessary to load thick and space-consuming mattresses in cool or hot weather. I used it 5-6 times for 1 year, I was very satisfied. I recommend it to everyone.

Total disappointment after 10 nights of use

Until now, my relationship with Decathlon had been rather positive, appreciating both the quality of the products and the in-store service. However, my recent experience with the Forclaz Self-Inflating Mattress has completely shaken that confidence. In view of my increasingly frequent traveling hikes, I decided to replace my old, impractical inflatable mattress with this product, even recommending my girlfriend to do the same, with complete confidence due to my attachment to Decathlon . After a successful test in our apartment, we took these mattresses for a week-long trek. Initially satisfied with their comfort, our nights went well. Please note, we took care to inflate and deflate the mattresses in our tent. However, following another three-day trek, my mattress deflated on the first night. Being installed on a grassy surface, I did not feel any discomfort. Before the second night, I checked the valve and looked for any leaks, without success. In just a few minutes the mattress was flat for the next night. In contrast to my experience, my girlfriend's mattress worked perfectly. Back home, I tried to detect the leak without success, even using the soap technique. Finally, while submerging the mattress in a friend's pool, I discovered multiple microleaks in the middle of the mattress. I went to Decathlon to explain the situation, but their response was disappointing: they were unable to take the mattress back, arguing that it was no longer under warranty due to its use. Additionally, their repair kit proposal was inadequate, with the small holes spread over too large an area to be effectively repaired. Disappointed, I tried to contact their after-sales service, but without conclusive results. Ultimately, I opted to purchase a mattress from a competitor, more expensive but offering, so far, a better experience. However, the story does not end there: during a 3rd, my partner's mattress also started to deflate, without us being able to locate the leak. Fortunately, we had extra foam for a minimum of comfort. Despite the affordable price, I can only give this product one star. I was only able to enjoy it for around ten nights, just like my girlfriend. This experience deeply disappointed me not only because of the quality of the product but also the lack of solutions offered by Decathlon, a company committed to a more responsible approach. In the end, €100 for 2 unusable mattresses. Damage !

Beautiful

Although the mat is not very thick, it does not get cold at all from the ground, it is not like a very soft bed, but it is still comfortable, it is easy to inflate and deflate, it is not too big, I like it.

Just what you want!

Used a friends L size twice and had to get myself one. Found it online in an XL which is even better for me as I’m 6’2”. Open the value leave it a minute & there you go! It’s that easy. I throw in 2-3 puffs of air from my lungs to get it to the firmness i prefer. Open the baile when you’re done fold in half roll it up & it pops back into its pouch. Used it in summer & this winter and I hadn’t an issue.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Foam: 100.0% Polyurethane ; Floor mat: 50.0% Thermoplastic Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Main fabric: 50.0% Thermoplastic Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyester

The principle of a self-inflating mattress

A self-inflating mattress consists of an airtight envelope glued to an open cell foam in which the air circulates. When you unfold your mattress, it will return to its original shape and thickness (2.5 cm for the MT100 mattress) and fill with air. However, it requires some mouth inflation so you can adjust it to the pressure level suitable for you. Self-inflation is more or less noticeable depending on the thickness of the mattress.

Easy inflation/deflation

When using your mattress for the first time, unroll it, open the valve for 24 hours on a flat surface, then inflate it and leave it for 24 hours, valve closed, under pressure. Then you can store it away again. While trekking, take out and unroll your mattress as soon as you set up camp, valve open to facilitate pre-inflation. A self-inflating mattress inflates to about 60 to 70% on its own. You will need to blow up the rest yourself, so you can adjust the pressure to your desired comfort level.

What is the r-value?

The R-Value is a measure of the thermal insulation. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress. Please note that the R-Values can be added; this means that you can use two mattresses and add their R-Values.All our mattresses are tested to standard ASTM F3340-18.

What r-value for what use?

R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) onlyR-value from 2 to 3: 2 or 3-season (spring-summer-autumn)R-value from 3 to 4: 4-seasonR-value of 4.5 and higher: Use in all 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitudes)

Tips for sleeping well on your mattress

Once you are lying down, remember to adjust the inflation pressure of the mattress by slightly pressing the IN valve (open cap). A mattress that is too hard is often synonymous with discomfort.Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are designed to reduce the sliding of your sleeping bag on the mattress.

Product testing

All our mattresses undergo mechanical performance and resistance tests to guarantee you the best night's sleep and recovery (thermal and abrasion resistance, etc.). We also carry out several field tests in real-life conditions.

Storage instructions

For improved durability and reliability of your product, store it stretched out flat, valve open, in a dry and temperate place.
