A good idea but average to passable finish

I have had these undergloves for 1 or 2 years I think, they have served me both as undergloves on ski outings (under big gloves) and as main gloves in mid-season. Small parenthesis: an underglove in a glove, all too tight, can be totally counterproductive and I experienced it with frozen fingers despite the stacking of layers; you have to leave a bit of air between the hands and the gloves... In main use, they slip a lot due to the merino material, so it is not recommended to grab things (handlebars, pole, whatever). It is more for an additional use. Also, and these are the two most problematic points, the finish on the seams is not great (I have a few threads that have been hanging around for a while, waiting to be sewn up) and, above all, the coating applied between the thumb and index finger to facilitate grip has completely disintegrated over the first few uses. Bad news for us, and bad news for nature which sees all these little bits of synthetic material landing on its soil..!! For me, this detail should have been anticipated because it is not at all in the spirit of eco-design... Ultimately, the glove loses one of its qualities quite quickly and to the detriment of nature. More than a shame... :-/ Wouldn't it be possible to pour silicone so as to impregnate the fabric, even if it is also a little on the inside? Silicone would allow adhesion on the "clamp" area, resist low and high temperatures, resist over time, and do not disintegrate. I'm throwing out an idea, if technically feasible. Nature will thank me.

I like them a lot

We bought them as mountaineering and motorcycle inner gloves. However, I use them even in daily life, we are satisfied.

Great undergloves

I recommend these undergloves. The finishes are great, they are light, comfortable and available in several colors.

Gloves

It's comfortable and warm, but if you have nails, you'll get punctured soon.....

So I ran the Farewell race on Saturday. Route B. I packed the thin Craft and MT 500 Forclaz gloves that I bought just a few days before. So that I have two on a rotation. Which was a good idea, because it snowed in the Český Středohoří on Friday. For how thin Decathlon gloves are, they probably have better warmth. The material is very pleasant on the skin. And the phone control is great. Especially when you have the route, including the controls, right on your phone. Gloves weigh practically nothing.

What does the dexterity of a glove refer to?

A glove's dexterity corresponds to its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves have been given a score from 1 to 5 in a laboratory study. The closer the score is to 5, the more the glove can handle objects in the same way as bare hands. In particular, tests were done to measure how easily it is to get a jacket on and open it with these liner gloves.

Warmth

When worn under hiking gloves, these liner gloves will give you 37°F (3°C) of additional warmth. This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable. For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

How is usage temperature measured?

All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 41°F (5°C) to -4°F (20°C) and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions.

How to properly protect your hands from the cold

By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. Consequently, by wearing liner gloves in addition to gloves, several air gaps are created around your hands, which provide effective insulation from the cold. To achieve this, the gloves must be big enough not to compress your fingers. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.

Origin of the wool

We use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing. We built a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment. This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool.

How to maintain your merino wool liner gloves

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool liner gloves at 86°F (30°C) on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry them on a flat surface, away from moisture and all sources of heat. This could damage the fibre and make them lose their shape. Never put them in the tumble dryer.

Warning!

These gloves do not protect against the spread of viruses or microbes.

Product testing

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field because we believe that the only way to continually improve is to test the products under the real-life conditions that you will experience.
