Excellent, they have made battery-powered headlamps obsolete even for mountaineering use. No more used batteries to dispose of filling up the house (not to mention their cost). But be careful, there is one thing you need to know: THEY TURN OFF SUDDENLY AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS. This is very important to know because it can lead, in mountaineering conditions, to situations that can cost your life! (Imagine that it goes out outside, on a moonless winter night: you can no longer move and you are left exposed to the frost. Or halfway through a climbing pitch with the protection 10m below...) The solution is simple : you must bring TWO with you. (It's not a problem because they are light). Even better if you want to be scrupulous: wear the second one at the same time when you suspect that the 4 hours of the first one are about to end. You will be able to turn on the charged faceplate with a gesture, when needed, without having to rummage through your backpack in the dark.
Does the job well, good value for money; having a battery instead of batteries is a plus.

Great value for money. Great for occasional use because not particularly comfortable to wear but does the job. I also use red light a lot in nature at night, it's great.

Construction
Monobloc design for optimal compactness. The flexible SEBS casing provides simple access to the batteries whilst protecting the head torch from impact and rain. The HL100 USB head torch switch is designed for easy use wearing gloves whilst avoiding accidentally switching on in your bag.
Headband
Removable, washable headband. Composition: 70% polyester and 30% natural rubber for maximum comfort. The two symmetrical buckles facilitate tightening. The HL 100 USB head torch adapts to fit all head sizes, including both adults and kids, as well as mountain helmets.
