Comfortable and restitant, perfect second layer for bivouacs in the mountains
Good product nothing more. Standard design.
pros: it is very warm and thin (in fact it is thinner than what is seen in the photo and it has a good price for how thin it is cons: the seams are of poor quality, after a week of use they began to come loose The padding comes out a little (next to the zipper) and the zipper handle feels too flimsy (it is made of a very thin string) 8/10 highly recommended, especially if you are looking for a thin parka for a decent price
This is an item that I have already purchased. This down jacket is very good for fall and early winter. A light piece of clothing underneath is enough. I like being able to pull the zipper up to under the chin when it's windy. Ideal for dry weather. Easily compactable. Very well cut and light. Ideal in the city as well as when hiking.

Good jacket for every day
I am delighted with this Forclaz down jacket which I no longer part with. It is perfectly cut to my body shape, keeps it incredibly warm (tested under -20° in the Pyrenees when resting with merino tights, fleece and Hardshell last) I didn't feel cold. I recommend without hesitation!
Super light, super warm, easily stuffs into pocket! THe shape of the jacket is great too, dipping a little longer in back. Love this!

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23° during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). Down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. For this down jacket with its 85% down and 15% feathers filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 800 CUIN or more (international standard).
What is rds certification?
RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to care for a down jacket?

How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch so the tear doesn’t get any bigger and the feathers escape. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.

10 trekkers (5 men and 5 women), independent of Forclaz, tested this down jacket during a week-long trek in November 2016, in the Mont Blanc mountain range. The feedback given to us after this test let us validate this down jacket for mountain trekking.
