Operational raincoat for your hikes

Tested once with 20l bag and 35l bag: can be put on quickly and is very waterproof. Be careful of the wind!

great accessory

I mainly use it with a fleece and it is perfect for protecting my bag (tried with a 50 and 90L bag)

Good price/efficiency ratio

Tested on 7-8 hour walks in the rain (yes... the camino can be very humid). The poncho is easy to put on (a little more complicated for the bag but that's the case with all ponchos). It's very waterproof... That's the goal, but absolutely not breathable, so you sweat a lot underneath. Additional protected ventilation would be welcome. The materials seem solid. An important safety regret: why not put a self-reflective strip on the back of the bag. Given the black color, this would be an essential plus for safety, particularly on the side of the road.

Good efficiency under…

Good performance in the rain for 2 days, good hood design thanks to elastic adjustment and a small visor. Easy to put on with medium-sized backpack. Possible improvement regarding the color, it would be good to have a brighter color than black in order to be more recognizable by others in rainy weather

The size fits just right, only sometimes the sleeves are longer with my figure, but no problem. 👍

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane

Fit and sizing information

Good coverage for hikers between 157 and 173 cm in height (size S/M) or 174 and 190 cm (size L/XL) and carrying a 60L maximum backpack. Hood can be tightened thanks to elasticated drawcord and stopper toggle. The ends of the sleeves are cuffed with an elastic binding that prevents water from entering your sleeves. This rain cape is easy to get on and off thanks to its long front zip which slips easily over the head.

Additional recommended products

To complete your outfit, we recommend overtrousers or waterproof gaiters to fully protect your lower legs. For greater breathability, the waterproof hat can also be attached to the poncho!

Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours).

Waterproofing of the garment

This garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 litres of water / m² / hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.

Component breathability

Our rain poncho and cape ranges do not come with a waterproof/breathable membrane. Therefore, we recommend calm, gentle use to reduce perspiration rather than fast hiking!

Component water resistance

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed throughout the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes). All Quechua ponchos and capes have a water-repellent treatment.

Care

We recommend you use a re-waterproofing product (spray or liquid)To renew the fabric's water repellent-properties and optimise the garment's performance throughout its lifetime.

Storage instructions

Long-term storage: dry thoroughly and fold in its bag.
