The flap incorporating pockets is a bad idea, in fact it makes it heavy and access becomes uncomfortable because to access the central pocket you have to hold the flap because it falls down due to its weight. Moreover, even when empty, it falls back. Better to have no flap at all. Otherwise, for the rest this pouch is great to position on the waist belt of the backpack, this allows quick access to your glasses for example, or your phone, without having to search in the bag. No discomfort noted
