Question:
I'm confused about the torso lengths for this?
Answer:
When choosing the size of a hiking backpack, it’s important to take into account your body shape. The backpack size should be adapted to your back. It’s measured from the base of your neck to your hips and the grip of the stomach strap should be comfortable on your hips. How to accurately measure your torso for optimal backpack fit? To ascertain this crucial measurement, enlist the help of a friend and have a pliable tape measure on hand. Bend your head forward and locate the bony protrusion where your shoulder slope meets your neck—the 7th cervical (C7) vertebra, marking the top of your torso length. On either side of your body, run your hands down the ribcage to the apex of your hip bones (known as the iliac crest). Align your index fingers forward and your thumbs backward, creating an imaginary line between them. The point on your lumbar region where this line intersects is the base of your torso measurement. Maintain an upright posture, and ask your friend to measure the distance between the C7 and the imaginary line formed by your thumbs. This measurement constitutes your torso length.

Product Customer Reviews
Great, too bad it doesn't work by itself.
Perfect purchase
We didn't take it specifically for hiking, but for a one-day trip with a small child, everything fit super well.

Too bad this bag has such uncomfortable frames. After a day of hiking (15 kg of carrying), bruises on the hips because of the frames hitting the hips with each step. Suddenly, impossible to continue the roaming. The only way to relieve the hips was to completely loosen the belt and ... carry everything on the shoulders, which is not the principle. I am a good Decathlon customer and I do not like to leave negative reviews but I do it here because I had to fight to return this bag while it was impeccable and it is clearly stated on your site that a return is possible after trying it if it does not fit. To improve? ...
Very good value for money. The fact that it can be opened lying down like a suitcase is a plus. I have used it for trips and for trekking for more than 5 days carrying the tent, the sleeping bag, etc. and the size is perfect. The first few days it hurt my hip a little, but when I loosened it and removed a little weight it got better. As for improvements: the straps to keep things from moving inside the backpack are a bit annoying if you put things on top instead of in the suitcase. A little more room in the side pockets. If you carry it quite full, there is little space in the side pockets. Note: if you want it for the plane, it is larger than the cabin measurements (although it fits on top and they have never measured it for me)
I bought this backpack for a 10-day hike through Sweden. During a practice hike I had pulled the hip belt way too tight and my hips hurt, but after I loosened this belt I had no more problems. I am quite short, 1.57m and the bag can be adjusted well to the length of my back. The ventilation part does not work well enough for me, I sweat quite quickly and still had a soaked T-shirt. That is why I would have preferred a bag without ventilation in retrospect to have more packing space. But this depends on personal preferences (I really like it for a daypack). Furthermore, on the bottom there are 2 handy straps to hang a mat under your bag, I had not seen those when I bought the bag. Still a small disadvantage; the clamps to secure your walking poles are attached with a button, which came loose on me and I lost the clamp halfway through my hike. Decathlon does not have these clamps in the store to replace them.
I walked next to him like next to a hedgehog not knowing whether to decide or not, why not too small/too big and ctr. It was totally worth it 💯 I recommend it with a clear conscience
Satisfied, just the exterior compartments, on each side are not very well designed I find, otherwise very good bag.
Well thought out, super happy with the backpack. To be seen in the rain...
The bottle holder is completely out of place. Where should my right arm go if I need to carry a bottle underneath?
Very good product
Capacious, I put everything in it for 5 days of hiking, with a weight of 13 kg very comfortable, the carrying system works perfectly, the weight is evenly distributed, many compartments and pockets make it easier to pack and later find the things you need during the hike. It can be adjusted very nicely.
My head touches the backpack And the bar in the shoulder too high for me Maybe 🤔 not my size
perfect for traveling

Air design
As with the MT900 UL line, the MT500 AIR range has a ventilated back structure with mesh fabric (net fabric) that helps the back to breathe and dries quickly. Rigidity is guaranteed by a reinforced frame. The back is adjustable with a release strap that’s easy and quick to use.
Materials
Polyamide main fabric 210D RS (Ripstop = increased resistance to tears), reinforced bag base (420Dx330D RS)
Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
Female body shape
Our women's models are adapted to their body shape (chest and hips) with a more open shoulder strap shape and a higher fitted belt for greater comfort and freedom of movement.
