Riverside 900 Hybrid Bike

I bought this bike to replace my old heavy steel bike. I have found it very easy to ride and it’s much lighter than my old bike. Gear changing is very simple:I like the fact that it doesn’t have an additional gear selector for the front chain wheel

I purchased the bike GREY/ORANGE for commuting to work. It is really sturdy and comfortable. Unfortunately, it was a home delivery and after assembling some parts, I have realised when cycling there is a squeaking noise. I will have to cycle to the store which is 20-25 min away from where I live, so it is something to consider but I could also pay and go to a nearest bike shop. Thus, I will totally recommend purchasing this bike. Syl

Swift and efficient purchase of a bicycle. I know what bike I wanted, was shown the bike, discussed colour options and made the purchase. Two days later, picked it up from the store, was given care instructions and booked a three month safety check. Very satisfactory service - very happy customer.

The bike (Riverside 900) is very good. It is nice for long and short rides and gives more comfort and ease. The gear shift is great too. Easy to fit accessories.

I have little experience of bikes but seems to be a good bike. The only issue being some squeaking already just after just 3 or 4 weeks. I have done some asking around and apparently this is common with disc brakes and relatively easily fixed. I wouldn't have though it would happen so quickly though. There was no offer from decathlon to service the bike after a few weeks like some of the other shops so will either fix it myself or take it back to the shop.

Today it is July 18. I bought this bike on July 16 from Decathlon store Ealing Broadway. I rode the bike hardly for 5 Miles and while crossing the main road the left pedal broke suddenly and fell on the road. I was lucky that there was no fast moving vehicle. I tried fixing it myself but inner spiral grooves that fix the pedal to its arm were worn out. I had to walk back 3 Miles with broken pedal in hand. Now I have to go back to the store, wait in their long queue to get it fixed. The bike also makes squeaky noises intermittently. PS: I wish I could share the images with this review.

Very Good

Not having bought a bike in the past 20 years was somewhat bewildering when choosing a new one. However, Jon at the Team Valley (UK) Decathlon store did a great job helping me choose this bike. It's ideal for my needs and well made. I also bought some mudguards & a centre stand that were fitted in store. I'm very happy with my purchase and customer service. Thanks !
