General discontent

I bought this model last June. I used it for 1 week in July and everything was fine. I used it again in August and the rear hanger (1 of the three hangers supporting the tent) deflated: already a leak after 8 days of use. Finding the leak was very difficult but even after putting on the only patch provided (and those purchased elsewhere), the 3rd hanger continues to deflate. This means that the internal and external parts of the room touch each other and water enters the room (in case of rain; even if it does not rain, morning dew arrives and falls into the tent). On the other hand, in the entrance/living room area, although the inner and outer layers do not touch each other, in the morning the dew flows and falls inside the tent. In addition, on my 2nd use (so after a single disassembly and a single reassembly), I noticed that the lifting bowl floor mat sags in the middle and that water comes in (it would have been necessary to put a velcro there ) which requires putting something in to prevent it from sagging. On the last day of camping, it was raining when we took down the tent and it was impossible to dry it; 2 days later on return, the humidity had left marks. It would have been better to buy the pole tent! So, very unhappy for a tent costing $475 (+ taxes).

first try

first attempts at camping, some inconveniences despite everything. Firstly, the groundsheet is quickly damaged despite a groundsheet underneath the tent. The plastic is tearing off in places. Insects pass through easily because the groundsheet is not airtight. the tent is not identical to the illustration on the site, we have two mosquito net windows while in the photo, there is a plastic window. strange, we also noticed stains on the bedroom canvas. a little disappointed with our tent. otherwise, after a night of heavy rain, we were quite dry.

Easy Up, Easy Down

We love Decathlon and get most of our outdoor attire and gear from them. We purchased this tent and the Quechua Air Seconds 4.1, Inflatable Camping Tent, 4 Person. We do a lot of car camping and our third time using the tents (my brother and his family borrowed one tent and we used the other), BOTH of them caved in just 2 hours of rain and wind leaving us, our small children, and gear completely soaked. We ended up having to sleep in our trucks. No other tents in the entire campground were affected.

Perfect

Great tent with a very practical awning in case of rain. Very wind resistant, tested in Gaspésie on the edge of Percé Rock with very high winds. It is also perfectly waterproof.

Pitching / striking

Sun protection

The fabric of the flysheet offers UPF 30 sun protection.Warning: a significant amount of UV light can get in through a simple open door.

Ventilation

The ventilated flysheet on the living room allows air to flow and reduces condensation inside the tent. Upper air vents are also located at the front and rear of the tent, as well as mosquito nets at the top of the door and base of the bedroom.

Wind-resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The goal is to expose each side of our tent to the same wind intensity.Well pitched with the guy ropes properly deployed, this tent remains habitable with a wind of force 7, measured at 35 mph.

Waterproofing

We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The 1st test is done in the laboratory, 4 hours under 200 liters of water per hour per sqm, the equivalent of tropical rain of 200 mm per hour. The 2nd test is done in the field under real conditions by our teams. This tent is equipped with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet of 2000 mm water resistance. It also has seams taped using heat-sealed strips and a 6.7 oz/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.
