a discovery ! surprising, perfect!!!
bike remains efficient and comfortable on the road and beautiful path, if stony to avoid downhill the weak point are the brakes with mechanical pads and not hydraulic
Extremely quick handling. It is comfortable and stable on the road. For the price you get what you pay for. Mid-range transmission is humanized, disc brake. A good purchase to start in the Gravel category. The competition offers the equivalent but at a higher price. Small downside I had to redo the adjustment of the rear transmission. The stop was set on the second small gear and not the last and so I had to review the indexing. For those who don't touch it I have to understand that it would be annoying to go straight to the workshop as their first outing rather than into the woods. I'm still going to go to the workshop because I have a little noise on a few gears that I can't seem to make go away. Otherwise very happy with my purchase. On the same order, I bought a Van Rysel EDR AF 105 racing bike from Decathlon (see comment). Perfect transmission settings on this model. To say not to generalize a small malfunction.
A beautiful machine, new to me. I admit to having been well advised and received by the staff at the Narbonne store.
Good bike overall, but many problems related to assembly still unresolved. Overall, the bike is exactly what I wanted. The versatility is definitely there, especially after changing wheels and using two different tires depending on the outings. The big downside is the reliability of certain components, and after almost 1 year, and 6 visits to the workshop, still problems! - Like many, the speed adjustment was poorly done. No problem and quickly resolved. - Rear brake poorly adjusted too, dealt with during another visit. - I changed the wheels for Mavics in view of the many negative feedback on the original wheels. - The front brake, already more complicated. It vibrates a lot, and the controller almost touches the belt. It is very unpleasant, and does not inspire confidence. It seems that it's normal, the hydromeca brakes "it's crap" will say the mechanic. After a few more months of use, the pads only touch the disc. However, they are almost new: there is no clearance on the caliper. - and the biggest problem I have play on the left crank from the first month. 1st visit to the workshop to tighten. It lasted 1 month. I return to after-sales service, which this time looks a little better: problem during assembly, a spacer was missing. After 2 months, again, the crank still moves. Passage to the workshop: "everything has been glued, we can tighten it up. There are too many people, come back in 2 months". Back at the workshop, I agree with the mechanic to change the crankset and bearings under warranty. Finally. Except that the original crankset is no longer in stock, the mechanic has provided a 50/34 road crankset instead of the 48/32, (while for gravel, a 46/30 would be more practical). Anyway, the workshop called me back to explain this to me, and suggested I just tighten and glue. Again. I took it upon myself, but it's too much, I ask to change the bike, as indicated on the Decathlon website. 365 days for exchange or refund if the product is not suitable. Except that the mechanic explains to me that the bike is not new, this is not possible! In short, I'm disgusted, I have a bike that has never complied, neither for the pedals nor for the front brake, but it's now my fault! In short, velo decath, for me, it's over.
Bought 2 weeks ago, I tried the bike for the first time today. Surprise after a few meters, the semi-rigid shell of the pedal supplied with the bike touches the wheel as I turn the handlebars. I call the workshop of the store of purchase, the technician asks me for photos which I send (suspicion of inverted fork). Observation: I have to remove the shells and put on auto pedals (I hate that) or avoid turning too much. Um it's a Gravel ok. Afterwards he explains to me that shells are rubbish, in short ZERO. I'm the first to have this problem etc. Between the sellers who are a little bothered, who are reluctant to ride the bike, the lousy reception manager,... I'm disappointed +++. An ex decathlon (several years different stores)
In view of the comments and the numerous problems with the wheels and crankset, this bike does not live up to my expectations and I am heading towards another choice. It is nevertheless recommended on several sites?!
The bike is robust but it took me a couple of hours to adjust it as it should be despite the shop promised to get it right from the start. Gears: front and back were off, brakes were nonexistent upon delivery. Brake discs weren't exactly straight and rubbing the brake pads. The bike looks good and once adjusted can be fast too. It took me already though some high speed roads, mud, dirt, water, gravel and single track rough descents and ascents. Hope it's robust on long term.
too bad the people who prepare the bike are lousy, also not the bike and really at the top whether on the road or really rough path surprised by their comfort
The shop assembly was not perfect, but after correction by a professional, it is perfect.
Very pleasant bike, best value for money on the market, it's a shame that it is so poorly adjusted when it leaves the store: misaligned stem, front derailleur that rubs, rear derailleur with quick adjustment screw all the way (ready to go out) ... I took it back to the store, little improvement, I redid everything
Bike received on 12/19/22, wheel problem (the freewheel freewheels in both directions) after less than 4 months. Appointment made at decathlon on 04/13/23. As of today (04/09/23), Decathlon still does not have the replacement wheel. Each time I am told a new date, that I will be reminded. Decathlon never called me back, the wheel never arrived. Now it should arrive on 09/22/23, without much hope... In the meantime, Decathlon continues to sell this same model new in other stores...
A great travel bike, I tested it in assembly and it was really good, perfect transmission and brakes, comfortable for long journeys. However, there is a little lack of fixing on the fork, and unfortunately with the vibrations, my front luggage rack has completely eaten away the screw threads of the attachments on the fork. A bit of a shame especially after 7 days of use. So a few more anchor points would be ideal for the trip.
Bike purchased in June, a carefully considered purchase! After a short trip of 440 km in 4 stages, here is what I can say about it: - the bike is very comfortable and manoeuvrable, the 40 mm tires are great for riding on everything, from the road to the paths (caution: this n is not a mountain bike and I was unpleasantly surprised by the difficulty of riding as soon as the terrain becomes rough) - when I left the store after picking it up, I realized after 5 min that… I couldn't fit on the big chainring - after a few hours of riding on the first day of my trip, I realized that something was wrong with the rear derailleur: the chain was jumping on half of the sprockets, was making rattling noises. friction on most of the others and I couldn't get on the biggest one! --> Fortunately the adjustments of the front and rear derailleurs were made to me for free, but if you have not yet mastered this kind of adjustment, I strongly recommend that you immediately test all the sprockets and chainrings next to the store before you go. go, even if it means coming back straight away to ask for it to be done by the workshop. At the price the bike cost, I was quite upset to realize the problem in the middle of the bush. Otherwise, great bike :)
For now only used on the road, with some well-trodden paths. Excellent. Excellent grip and pedaling fluidity. The gearbox is also good. More than comfortable frame. Excellent in-store preparation. We'll see on longer gravel routes but for now the opinion is much more than positive. PS: it's not my first gravel.
