Van Rysel EDR AF105 Road Bike

After surveying the market for several months, I chose this bike which offers the best value for money. The aluminum frame is more than enough for regular, leisure-oriented practice (outing with friends to get away from it all). The reliability of the 105 is appreciated, no problems to report after 7 months and 3000km. I highly recommend.

The bike is great for getting serious about cycling. Unbeatable value for money. The assembly, on the other hand, really left something to be desired (speeds and brakes in particular).

The bicycle is made of aluminum but it is practically not noticeable, since its weight is low. In addition to this, it has a shimano 105, one of the best gears this brand has. On the other hand, when I went to pick up the bike at Decathlon, the attention they gave me was quite bad, if not non-existent. When I bought it, I asked if they were going to adjust it to my measurements, and they told me yes, of course, no problem, and that that same day we would see if I wanted to add anything else to it. Well, with everything and that, when I pick it up, they deliver it to me and without further ado they tell me you have "x" years of warranty, and that's it. The handlebars were not in the correct position, the saddle was not adjusted, I asked if they could at least adjust these two elements and not even that. The answer was you have to loosen this screw... It seems to me that for having paid €1,150, it is a reasonably high price for them to at least give you the bike so you can use it as soon as you leave the store. Something that I made known to the person who helped me didn't care... Obviously, I would NOT recommend the product because of the attention received, since you go to another store and they even adjust the cleats of your shoes to the pedals.

Passionate about cycling for less than a year, this purchase constitutes my first road bike. I have no perspective compared to other models but I am satisfied with my purchase. 1150 euros I have a light bike with a more than adequate transmission. Coming from running, I find sensations in physical effort. I'm satisfied for a long time.

Very pleasant and great driving position

I bought the bike on September 2, 2023 for 30 thousand TL. I used it twice in total. Let's talk after the short 40 km tour I did this morning: 105 sets are great. Previously, I was using Triban 520 with sora set, which is also a Decathlon product. When I compared it to the Sora set, I seriously felt the difference. Transitions and acceleration are very, very good. The bike is very comfortable 40 km. I did not feel the slightest discomfort during the first ride. The bike is endurance, but not full endurance. The handlebar is 3 cm lower than the triban 520. For this reason, I reversed the downward-sloping handlebar stem during installation to provide a height of about 2 cm. I wonder why Triban 520's M frame and this S frame are the same size? I bought an S because I know this. It is a super bike that I can recommend with the complete set of 105, its light weight, almost carbon frame weight, the very pleasing frame of the eye and the assurance of Decathlon. The shortcoming is that the cables pass outside the frame. There is nothing else that could be criticized, that is, your bike does not exist.

I purchased this Van Rysel as my first racing bike, after years of MTB and fixed gear. A week after purchase and with only two releases I can be satisfied. Excellent value for money for a beginner without too many needs for weekend outings under 100 km.
