Trekked in snow

Used it for a four day trek . it was quite comfortable with no feet getting wet issues. It seemed like a huge task though when I had to frequently get in and out of the shoe.

ABSOLUTE WINNER

Hello everyone, I’m hoping this review will help anybody who’s trying to get the right trekking shoe because a trekker spends most time with the shoe than in the tents. Coming with my own experiences at Brahmatal, this shoe was an absolute winner because of the excellent grip and traction ( on fresh snow ) that it provided me with during the trek. I walked about a 7-8 Kms everyday in different terrains which included dry and rocky, 2 ft snow and wet (with gaiters), streams and slushy and I think the sole cushioning and high ankle support was brilliant which made the trek an easy one. I would strongly recommend a gaiter where the snow is more than half a feet like in my case. Anybody looking for a beginner trek shoe- this is certainly a good value for money. Worth the buy!

Continuous Usage For A Month In Mountains

I have used this shoe continuously for a month while doing Basic mountaineering course and this was the best throughout. I haven't felt uncomfortable in any trail, worked best as waterproof while trekking during rain, and fortunately haven't got even a single blister. Very happy with this product. I have also recommended this product to my friend and she is also happy about the usage.

Great shoes

Very comfortable

Highly satisfied with the product

I bought these shoes for my Hampta pass trek in July 2019. When I first wore them at the Decathlon store, I found them weird. However since these were the recommended shoes, I went ahead and bought them. I think it was the best decision. They have a very good ankle support and an amazing grip on all kinds of terrain including snow. I had to put crampons only when the snow was hard and slippery. Otherwise the shoes gave me good grip. They are also water resistant so with all those ankle deep river streams that I crossed on the way, my feet remained dry. I would recommend to buy this product physically trying at the store.

good shoes

light and comfortable

Best trek shoes ever

They are so good, it worked on all kind of terrain - Rocky, Muddy, water bodies, thick snows. I bought it first time and the sales person suggested this for my leh/ladakh trip and it was worth his suggestion. The shoes are so comfortable I had multiple fracture on my left leg from foot to knee making it difficult to wear any normal sport shoes too with swelling and pain. But this was blessing in disguise little expensive but worth life long.

Not price worthy

The product is good ,but for the price tag it is not that durable. The inside sole started worn out with like in one month only. Although the comfort of the shoe is good.Yes they are waterproof, untill unless water gushes in from the top shoe opening, otherwise they work well with water. I wore the shoes almost more than 12hrs a day for continuous 25 days, after which i'am writing this feedback. Enjoy your purchase folks.

Difficulty in walking with this Trek shoe

Severe shoe bite and blisters even after using anti blister socks

Hello Ma'am
Thank you for taking out time to give your valuable review on Trek 100 Women Mountain Trekking boots. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the product.
As you mentioned you had difficulty walking in these trekking boots. There can be multiple reasons for the comfort issue like:

1. The reason for blister can be the size of the shoe. In any trekking shoe you should normally take a size bigger than your fitting sport shoe.
2. If you use a fresh new shoe in trek without breaking into it after using for few walks before heading to the mountains it can be a reason for discomfort while walking.
3. If you are a new trekker one more reason for discomfort in walking which a lot of new trekkers face is that they are not used to high ankle boots.

Hence, I suggest you to visit your nearest decathlon store to have the shoes physically tested by our trekking team in-store. If the discomfort is because of the manufacturing issue of the product we will be more than happy to exchange the trekking boots to a new one which is perfect for you or provide you a refund as per your convenience.

I hope the above information was helpful. Kindly feel free to write back to me in case of further queries.

Shoe are not for descend

Hi, The shoe quality is good and waterproof, But i faced difficulty while descending, instead of buying perfect size I suffered both toe injury, resulting in loss of both toe nail. The shoe needs to improvise and tested for descend, i guess something like soft cushion around toe would have saved my toe nail and my suffering

Hello Miss Amisha
Thank you for taking out time to give your valuable feedback on Women Trek 100 Boots. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the product and had to go through the injury.

I would like to tell you that in any trekking or hiking shoes please do buy a size bigger than your actual size which provides enough space for the toe while descending and saves the toe from hitting the front of the shoe  and try putting on the shoe and go for walks few days before the trek to break into the shoe before taking it to a trek because a new trekking shoe is always rigid and hard which might create problems if directly worn while trekking, these are two very important things to take care in a trekking shoe from wherever you buy them. However if you still feel it might be a defect in the shoe, please visit your nearest Decathlon store and have it physically checked by our team.

I hope the above information was helpful. Please feel free to write back to me in case of any further query.

Footwear waterproofing test.

These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. To start, the footwear is immersed in water with pressurized air inside to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the boot. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.

3 levels of waterproofing.

In our waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexions (approximately 2.5 mi walk) 4000 flexions (approximately 5 mi walk) 8000 flexions (approximately 10 mi walk). Naturally, when the product has dried after this test or in use, it regains its original waterproofing.

Footwear waterproof rating.

The TREK 100 boot has passed the waterproofing test involving 8000 flexes, i.e. 10 miles of walking in water up to the middle of the upper.

Lab tests

Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - attachment of eyelets and webbing - sole assembly - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated aging.

Buying tips

Try on both shoes, while standing, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating (the heel should barely rise if at all) and the front of the foot while going downhill (the toes should not touch the front of the boot). There should be no pressure points when trying them on. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.

Care instructions

Use a brush to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Rub with the brush always in the same direction to restore the original appearance to the nubuck. Do not use shoe cream or waterproof grease on split leather. While it will not damage the leather, it will change the look of your shoe.

Manufacture

The Trek 100 W boots are made in the European Union, in Romania. Most of the materials are of European origin.

Imported

Product testing

The wearing comfort and comfort in use of all our boots are tested by users who are representative of the people for whom the products are designed under the same conditions as those you will encounter in use. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who aren't affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.

Storage instructions

Store away from moisture in a ventilated room.

Care instructions

Use the brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Always brush in the same direction to give nubuck its original look. The use of cream or waterproof grease on split leather is not recommended. This is not problematic in itself, but it would change the shoe's aesthetic look.
