Product Customer Reviews

These boots provided a lot of comfort and it took only one day of wear to break in. No blistering experienced. I wore this boots in the last 2 weeks from today in Tanzania, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. However the problem i came across wearing these boots was that it is not waterproof. Water soaked through when I got caught walking through a 2 hour hail/rain storm on the mountain. I had to wear ziplock bags on my feet after this to keep feet dry, however because they were wet this made my body very very cold and shivering. Luckily thr next day was sunny so i could dry my boots before thr next part of the hike.
Very good shoes, I did a very hard trek in Indonesia with them and they are very comfy and resistant. No pain even when wearing them for the first time
Wife loves these boots, fit like slippers.
I have been going on lengthy walks in lockdown but as the weather was getting wet I decided to upgrade to waterproof boots. These boots seemed comfortable when I tried them in the store but they have caused me terrible pain which forced me to stop going on walks. This is frustrating as it’s one of the few things we can do in lockdown. Let me be clear that I have never suffered from any foot pain and haven’t torn or broken any bones/tendons ever. These boots gave me the worst Achilles heel pain ever (Achilles tendinitis). The pain started gradually and got to the point that I could not get in those boots and walk. I was limping as if I had a fracture. I bought some insoles but this did not make any difference. The minute I stopped wearing and switched to some new balance trainers the pain went away. But it took me various days of rest to get there. I think these boots are very hard and do not absorb any shock, hard surfaces. They do not offer enough support and have been an absolute waste of money. I would not recommend these buy something else. I used to own the cheaper version of the Quechua ones and they were half the price and much better. The reason I went for these is because these are waterproof.
The laces snag on the eye hooks causing feet to tie together and you fall over!
Hi, thanks for taking the time to review our Trek 100 mountain trekking boots.
Feedback such as yours is very valuable in improving and refining our future products. As it is, the new models of our trekking boots have adapted the eyelets to reduce the chance of this happening.
Thanks again for your review.

These boots seemed comfortable when I bought them at the store, and for the first few walks on plain, level tarmac around the city (I was testing them before my hike). Then I went on a 25 km hike that included steep ascents and descents of 700 meters, and even though the shoes held up well during the ascents, they hurt like nobody's business during the descents. Much of the trail was more or less level, with gentle gradients, but after about 2 hours of walking, the front of my feet (the balls under my toes) started hurting, as if the insoles offered no cushioning whatsoever. I could feel rocks, stones, and the texture of everything on the ground. By the time the path started descending steeply, the bones in my feet were so fatigued with pain that I felt like I was walking on knives. For the last few kilometers, I took off the boots and wore flip flops instead, and then I tried walking barefeet on the tarmac road when we reached the city, and even walking barefoot was more comfortable than walking in these shoes! I tried putting in new, better cushioned insoles at one of our stops, but the pain persisted on the remaining days of the trip, so I'm giving up on these shoes. Do NOT buy! The insoles are horribly cheap, flimsy and offer no support or cushioning. I have not tested the waterproof-ness, but the sheer discomfort of these shoes now have me trawling online for a brand new pair (NOT from Decathlon ever again), less than half a year of buying these shoes!
light and comfortable
Hi Mirela,
Much appreciated your feedback,

Wore these out of the box for a walk of about 6 miles with no problem. Very comfy and waterproof. My only slightly negative comment is that the laces slip over the top of the boot, so I now use the top two hooks first and do them up on the next set of hooks down so the 'knot' is away from the top.
Bought these for my son's scouts camp and he loved them. Comfy and warm.
Hi Rosh,
Thank you for your feedback!

Good boot, perfect fitting can be worn all day no problems
1st pair of walking boots purchased from Decathlon. Superb!!
Wanted something to walk the dog that was more practical than trainers and these are up to the job
Very comfortable shoe. Gave it a good workout on holiday and it stood up to all my walking over lots of different terrains, would definately recommend.
Nice blue colour. Made me quick in Snowdonia. Much ahead of my slow husband. Good ankle support. A bit too serious for a Sunday stroll. A bit too hot for September weather.
I tried them twice and could not even finish my last hike. Horrible pain and bruises started to appear on my ankles even when hardly not tighten.

Footwear waterproofing test.
These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. To start, the footwear is immersed in water with pressurized air inside to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the boot. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing.
In our waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexions (approximately 2.5 mi walk) 4000 flexions (approximately 5 mi walk) 8000 flexions (approximately 10 mi walk). Naturally, when the product has dried after this test or in use, it regains its original waterproofing.
Footwear waterproof rating.
The TREK 100 boot has passed the waterproofing test involving 8000 flexes, i.e. 10 miles of walking in water up to the middle of the upper.
Lab tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - attachment of eyelets and webbing - sole assembly - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated aging.
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, while standing, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating (the heel should barely rise if at all) and the front of the foot while going downhill (the toes should not touch the front of the boot). There should be no pressure points when trying them on. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
Care instructions
Use a brush to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Rub with the brush always in the same direction to restore the original appearance to the nubuck. Do not use shoe cream or waterproof grease on split leather. While it will not damage the leather, it will change the look of your shoe.
Manufacture
The Trek 100 W boots are made in the European Union, in Romania. Most of the materials are of European origin.

Imported
Product testing
The wearing comfort and comfort in use of all our boots are tested by users who are representative of the people for whom the products are designed under the same conditions as those you will encounter in use. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who aren't affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.
Storage instructions
Store away from moisture in a ventilated room.
Care instructions
Use the brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Always brush in the same direction to give nubuck its original look. The use of cream or waterproof grease on split leather is not recommended. This is not problematic in itself, but it would change the shoe's aesthetic look.
